awesome..HONEST Review. I want to get one, because I see a way to take constructbots parts, or extra ball joints, and connect the doors to the fenders. If you see what I see, having the doors that way would be kick ass.

I kinda see it as the TFP Knockout. Lots hated that one, but I think its a gem with a lil work. This may be the same..and I have not purchased a single RID figure.

definitely a kids toy, but looks decently fun and it'll probably be my one purchase from this line.

I'm reading negative review after negative review for this guy. That shoulder issue is a killer. And to think I was so deadset on picking this figure up...

I'll wait for the Takara release and see if the paint and quality of the figure improves by then.

No 'Swipe totally sucks I was originally hoping it was just mine but I knew in the back of my mind that it was a design flaw. I'm keeping him I'm just gonna wait for a fix or to figure out my.own. maybe takara will fix it?

Is there no way his chest could be trimmed close to the hinge, to allow the shoulders to lock in place?

Darn, the reviews confirmed that it's not just my Sideswipe that is crappy. I guess I wont bother exchanging for another one then. He looks good in both modes but the whole torso/shoulder assembly is a heap of ass. Any movement of his arms makes it all fall apart. I don't think the standard Future/nail polish trick would really help either as the pegs/holes are so small that I'm afraid adding anything would make it worse.

Another gripe is that there's so much portruding from the undercarriage in alt mode that his wheels don't all touch the ground.

At least the Legions/Legends Sideswipe is pretty good. :/

Things like this reaffirm my decision for sticking with Legions for RID.

There is NO way that nail polish remover is going to help the shoulders. The pegs needed to be a few millimeters longer in order to stay pegged in correctly. My guess is that the bean counters saved a butt ton of $$$ by shaving just a bit from those pegs. And lo, suckage.

Yeah, it's like the only thing that's going to hold him together is a rubber band. Since I don't roll like that, my Sideswipe is already on his way back to Amazon for a refund. I don't take returns lightly and I don't like to stick a store with a return if something isn't broken, but I think Sideswipe fit perfectly well under the "Item is defective" descriptive on Amazon.

If Hasbro ever did some kind of running change that allowed everything to lock in place, I would buy another one.
But considering RiD is their, "f***it, let's save a buck" line I don't see that happening.

A very poorly executed toy, that looks incredibly flimsy.

Mine came with a little too stiff right shoulder swivel I almost feared to break it down; left side was smooth and easy... but after careful rotation bit by bit once, it can be moved fine ok afterward.. As of the design I really like how the fenders rotate and it can perform a lot of good pose. While it is flimsy, all it takes is to hold down its waist with two fingers while playing/posing it... I don't see much of a problem... It is a good toy, at least not as frustrated as Generation Blitzwing's loose shoulder nor the Cybertron Superion 's floppy chest. [IMG]

I think it's actually as bad as, if not worse than Blitzwing. If one has to hold a robot's torso together with one hand while posing with the other, that is definitely a problem, a poor design and and makes for a very poor toy.

The fact that pegs, tabs and locking mechanisms even exist on Transforming toys is a pretty clear indication that you should NOT have to hold them together with your own hand.

I agreed it has its problem...
I must have forgiven its lacking in robot mode because of how slick its vehicle mode is.
Look at the bright side, at least its arms were remaining at position while I was taking pictures... LOL.

Wow this was going to be literally the ONLY out of all revealed RID figures I planned to purchase. Saving money on this entire series!

I love the alt mode. I love the robot mode. There is a nice trick with the shoulders. DAMN them shoulders. A better pegging system would have kicked this toy through the roof.

Also, while I am bitching, as a twin it pisses me off when we don't get both brothers. Where the hell is Sunstreaker?? I wanted him in FOC as well.

Nice catch with the sword with the back sheath trick ;)  Very cool.

I wouldn't write this toy off yet guys, I'm sure someone will come up with a fix for it sometime. It REALLY is annoying but once the pegging trick is fixed somehow its actually quite a gem (in my opinion of course just wanted to remind you that you MAY not want to pass cuz if there is a fix sometime you could regret. This is up to you of cpurse;)
