OK, I've noticed something weird for a while now. At first I thought it was isolated, but it seems pervasive. Whenever I use a TF with a hat that increases defense, my TF *starts* the run with one heart gone. For example, Soundwave with FRumble on his head begins with 4 out of 5 healt hearts. I first thought it was a quirk with Soundwave, but since I won all those silly hats in the contest, every single character wearing one starts out injured. What gives? Anyone else seeing this?

I can check the barracks before a node and verify that they have full health, but when I start the run, they just exit Astrotrain without the spin or flip or flair, which indicated an initial injury. Then, upon taking any damage at all, they're then below 4 hearts. It's crazy. Why would someone want to use such a handicap?

 

So which Energonicons are worth using? Last time I played TFs just had their standard default ones.

Also: wtf am I supposed to do to get points in today's event? Seems like random pigs give me points.

 

I exclusively use the electroblast one, just because flying enemies and missiles are annoying, and everything terrestrial is dealt with pretty well by normal fire.

 

Yesterday, the daily goal was flying pigs, plus energon towers (in the current events, it seems like the energon towers are always worth points every day. Regardless of the daily goal.) Today's goal is balloon pigs.

Additionally, if your two person team contains 1 of bonus squad members, get bonus points. When choosing your squad members, the bonus people will be represented by a blue symbol. Bonuses randomly change throughout the day. I think in the last few hours, the bonus ramps up to 150% bonus.

The bonus is there, I suspect, to make people try to win these things without just their favorite character team.

A few more questions, this time about Telepods.

1: Are there any figures who are exclusively available via Telepods?

2: If you have a Telepod, is there any point in unlocking it in the game? For example, I have a Gray Slam Grimlock Telepod. Is there any point to me spending 1800 pigs to unlock him in the game, other than not having to scan the figure if I want to unlock it?

3: Did the Shockwave/Acid Storm/Ratchet wave ever come out?

 

1. No, there are no Telepod exclusive characters. They should have done that, that would have been a good way for them to make money. On the other hand, I cannot purchase any easily in The Netherlands, so I am glad that they did not go that route.

2. I might be mistaken, but I believe that Telepod can only be used to heal your character in game. You have to unlock the character first, like any other character, the Telepod is not used to that.

3. Acid Storm and Ratchet are not in the game (yet?), so there will not be Telepods for them either. Shockwave is released in game, but I do not know if a Telepod exists for him. Like I wrote, it is difficult to get any Telepods here in The Netherlands.

 

Crap, about 800 tokens shy of that epic prime. Might have made it if the game didn't crash all the time and waste my charges. Hate those ads right before the mission starts.

 

Arie: Thanks for the info. But just FYI, Telepods unlock a character for use, but only for 24 hours. After that, they're gone until you either scan it again, or unlock the character in-game. You can even upgrade a Telepod character and those will be there the next time you scan it.

 

Heads up, folks - there's another competition starting Friday afternoon (June 3rd) revolving around Heatwave. They also mention adding in a new Seeker. Acid Storm, maybe?

 

Not sure how it'll work out, but the event banner says we can trade coins for gems during the Heatwave event.

Also, I expect that Wingblade will be available during the event, since we've gotten 2nd chances at Shockwave & Epic Optimus already.

Wow these rewards suck. Why have two with the same effect but diff percentage? Makes no sense.

I like this event so far) But getting 550 tokens after only 3 runs is too good to last long.

So just a heads up. All pigs are worth a point & the the daily goal seems to be worth 40 (currently gold blocks).

Energon towers are worthless in this event.

Edit: oh, and you'll want to use both bonus squad members when possible. You get an even bigger bonus.

 

Welp, I got the Axe for Heatwave which was the only thing I wanted in this event. Hope they reveal Acid Storm during or after the event so I can have an excuse to get more Energon tokens.
