You're not very good at presenting an argument. At all.

I'm just going to call this a win for logic and let you believe ignorant made up facts, and let you revel in your nerd bigotry. The simple fact that A) you addressed nothing remotely close to what I said, and B) your limited exposure to something = all somethings are like this, really limits your life. I suggest expanding yourself to understanding things you pretend to know about. It will help you in the long run.

BUT back to the real topic, the one major difference between Skyrim and WOW is that one is a MMORPG and one is a RPG. The differences between the two should be obvious. One is a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, and the other is just a Role Playing Game. I use "just" lightly as Skyrim was fun as hell.

Ok first off I'm gonna go ahead and leave this here:

As you can see Skyrim is what is referred to as a FP or first person game. The point of view of the player is first person, that is one big difference from World of Warcraft which is a top down ( or some would argue a third person) game.

Skyrim is more along the lines of a shooter with heavy fantasy RPG influence. World of Warcraft is a MMORPG or massively multiplayer online role playing game.

Skyrim is a single player adventure, World of Warcraft is, by genre definition, not. (Thus you really don't have to worry about interacting with any of the "shut ins" etc that you seem to believe comprises the majority of internet patrons.)

Having Skyrim "downloaded" on your X-Box hard drive is impossible unless it is a cracked/hacked X-Box to play games from the hard drive (not something you want to brag about online btw). You may have the image downloaded for faster data loading but you do not have the game in that case. EDIT: Games on Demand edition is available at this time

In closing the only real element that Skyrim has in common with WOW is that it is a fantasy game with role playing elements.

It's called Google, use it before you start insulting people. You seem to jump to a lot of knee-jerk conclusions for someone that is unwilling to do the most basic research on a game before calling it (and in this case it's fans) names.

Actually this is TRANSFORMERS Video Game Discussion so your point is still null.

Wow this is amazing. You jump to the ignorant conclusion that I dont know about skyrim despite you yourself not knowing anything about it outside of it being a game. I can safely say I do know skyrim is a game seeing as I own it and have played it quite a bit.

Here is a link to The video game and technology board: Video Games and Technology - TFW2005 - The 2005 Boards
(which oddly enough has a Skyrim thread right there!)

If you need anymore help navigating I'll be happy to help.

That is a very valid point... Though this topic is mainly a "Just beat FoC what to do now?" thread and that came up as a suggestion. Transformers seemed like a good place to post this originally but as it's evolved to include other non-Trasformers related video games it probably needs to be moved.

You know you can zoom in and play WoW in first person. The people who argue it's a third person game would be right though because that is your default view point. You have to zoom out from the default view to get it to where it's a top down view like in the picture. If you're not going by the default view then it's whatever you want it to be.

I don't understand why anyone would want to play top down though. When it's zoomed out that far I can't even tell what character I'm controlling. Everything looks like a huge mess down there. City of Heroes lets you do the same thing and in that game I'd only change the view point to take screen shots or film video. I don't know if this works in WoW but if you press the "home" key in CoH it'll automatically bring your view point back to the default third person view.

Well when I go to "My Games" it shows up along with WfC which I know is a downloaded game because the download code came with my copy of FoC. (You can get WfC download code when you buy FoC from Wal Mart.)

Besides as I've said before I bought the X-Box used and Skyrim was already on it so it's not like I cracked/hacked into it. To be honest I didn't even know that was possible. There's still a few things I haven't figured out how to do yet. Like I know I can access YouTube from my X-Box but I haven't done it yet.

There's a couple on YouTube and I've seen the guy watching his girlfriend's YouTube videos on his TV via the X-Box. That's the only reason I know it's possible.

Also I've noticed that the X-Box store does sell digital copies of some games that you can download directly to your hard drive and play without a disk. If my cousin got it that way it's not really a hack. If he did hack it well I wasn't aware of that when I bought it.

You know I did say that I have seen some game play online so in fact I DID do the most basic research and came to my conclusions BECAUSE it is a fantasy game with role playing elements.

You know your post goes into a lot of detail about the point of view of the games as the main and really only differences. You don't say a damn thing about any of the actual game play. Like how you get your quests, your UI (User Interface), maps, weapons, abilities, looting enemies, armor upgrades ect.

How about I list some specifics that I freaking hate about WoW.

Are your abilities and power ups easy to use? In WoW your abilities and Power Ups are all shown as identical square icons that make your UI screen look like a clustered mess. In City of Heroes only your power ups were square, you're actual abilities were circles. And what I mean by power ups are anything that is a one time use. Things that heal you, boost manna/stamina, give temporary damage or defense buffs, ect.

Are targets easy to see? On city of heroes the targeting system puts a box around the enemy character. This made it easy to see who you were targeting. On WoW the targeting system just puts a circle around their feet making it hard to see who you're targeting unless you happen to be looking at their feet. Even a cross hair and no lock on targeting would be easier to see than that stupid circle around their feet thing.

Does the map show you were important locations are? On City of Heroes you were able to set way points for contacts, missions, stores, or anything that was important to playing the game. It would not only put a marker directly on where you were going but it also showed you exactly how far away it was. In WoW maps are completely useless and don't tell you where anything is. You can download a 3rd party application but all that does is adds a compass to your UI that points in the direction you need to go but doesn't tell you how far away it is and you don't know when you're there until you've past it.

Do quests always take place out doors? On City of Heroes some missions were outdoor missions, these did not have way points as they were just to hunt X amount of a certain mob type. They were annoying but you didn't get them very often. You'd also get door missions which would be of several different types. Defeat all, Defeat Boss, Grab item(s), escort NPC, ect. This helped make the game less repetitive. In WoW every mission is a hunt mission. This contributed a LOT to why I got bored so fast playing that stupid freaking game.

Basically all I really want to know is if there's actually a good UI and a point to playing Skyrim or am I left to figure stuff out on my own and fight things randomly for no apparent reason like you do on WoW. If it's the first one then I'll try it out. If it's the second one then it's exactly like WoW and I want nothing to do with it.

This is enjoyable watching people argue about WoW and skyrim being similar or not similar because no one will win its how it always ends!

Just get the Halos, or wait for the new Aliens game coming out, both are badass, possibly more than FOC/WFC.

Did you just turn into an Insecticon?

Anyway... I just got Mortal Kombat for my X-Box today and I was so distracted by my new FoC Ultra Magnus which I also just got today that I forgot I bout two things and left the game in the car. It wasn't till I checked this topic that I remembered it was there.

Actually I dashed for the car after asking if you just turned into an Insecticon. That's right when I realized Mortal Kombat was still in the car.

    Guys...
Anyone figured out, how to make a roll?
I mean not to "Transform and Roll- Out". But the roll other hostiles do to avoid my attacks.

Ask Peppy Hare, he seems to know all about Rolls.

Seriously though I think it just happens if you hit dash while moving sideways. I've done it on accident a few times.

Oh, not sure this is the right place to be asking how to make spring rolls, but oh well. First you need....I'm messing with ya, but ya just dash sideways and you'll be able to do it.

I think, this is the place.
Once you bit everything you could and had been discussing some random things, it might be supposed that you know about rolls as well.
Like you could be more experienced and know more or just having more filling with your game, such as control buttons notes.
