    High Moon Studios

Well, that's a real shame. I was hoping for a lot more support on this game instead of HMS blowing all their ON-DISC DLC in the first month of release.
There was lot of potential for more characters/maps/game modes/escalation but it's all gone now in favour of the new Deadpool game.

Apparently there will be no new maps because it will split the community and no more characters because the game has hit the limit, they can't even add more colours!
(Maybe they should of released actual DOWNLOADABLE content rather than stuffing it onto the disc.)

As much as I love this game in general and how much fun I had with it, it's gotten a bit stale. (And my copy being broken and Activision NEVER sending me my replacement dsic.)
It really saddens me to see this game dead already. :C

Surprising that the "quick, rush it out the door nobody really cares anyway" licensed Revenge of the Fallen game was able to come up with new content, and a way to keep the community from being split by DLC maps, but High Moon just can't wrap their heads around the concept.

...Why not just add a DLC co-op mission?

But that would mean developing something that ISN'T locked on the disk already. :lol

    Because that requires effort, silly!
High Moon seem allergic to that stuff.

Oh, right, how could I forget? I saw HMS try to make an effort once, they swelled up like a balloon.

Why bother using their time dipping back into an already released game when they can use it to start working on the next new one. Which they probably are already doing.

The problem is when you make a game and you promote the multiplayer aspect of it, gamers become loyal to you and they want to continue to play your game. However if you choose NOT to release any additional DLC for the game, you instead end up alienating your audience because the idea becomes, "Why should I pay $60 for a game that will get no support after release?"

Sure there's patches and balancing, but eventually people want to see a new map, a new character, something or anything to keep the game fresh and keep the multiplayer aspect of the game attractive both to current gamers and those that might pick it up used at a GameStop or rent it off GameFly.

It comes down to cost and profitability - High Moon Studios obviously feels it is more cost-efficient to stop all content development for Fall of Cybertron and instead have a bare-bones crew watch the balance aspect of it, while they begin their concept design on the next game. It more or less means that they feel they've made all the money they're going to make, and that any DLC they release isn't going to sell enough to warrant the time developing and designing it.

Maybe while they're at it they should cancel the next game, so that they have more development time for the next next game.

Yeah, why can't they release DLC like two studios who are funded by the companies that (in effect) control their respective platforms and as such make boatloads of cash?

if they really wanted to keep new content for this game coming out without really doing much work beyond the initial effort they would just make an SDK and call it a day or to be a little bit more mod friendly in the first place but theirs no short term money in that.

its quite clear they wanted to keep to a strict DLC update pattern and it flopped so they might as well not put any more money into it and move on (read up on how much MS charges to host crap on XBL its crazy)

So they could've just said this when the game first came up, but they decided to cut back on 10% of MP options so they can string you along thinking they're still hard at work on adding more "for the fans", then after sales slow down because the "real" shooters come out, finally admit they really haven't cared to do shit since they finished making the game however long ago? Brilliant!!!

$90 total spent with all the DLC, not including Xbox live membership and I want more, I do not believe that we've seen everything unlocked on the disc, but this will definitely be a reminder for the next game. We got skins/models, big freaking deal.

I wish they would do something like spartan ops, like extra campaign missions to continue the story of shockwave and (or) the dinobots or something.

Several things wrong with this line of thinking:

    1. Halo is a triple A blockbuster title in the video game market and is one of Microsoft's cash cows, when you're a first party title that draws a stupid amount of sales, DLC is going to be pushed. Halo games will always be found at the top of the most played lists on Xbox Live, Transformers will be lucky to stay there in the first few weeks.

    2. Left 4 Dead 2 has not released a new in-house developed map since The Sacrifice many moons ago. The recent Cold Stream update/map was a fan made campaign that was Beta tested for months on the PC version of the game that VALVe pushed through to the 360 version of the game once it had reached a decent build.

    3. Transformers is a licensed product, its not a video game franchise at its core. And to expect Activision, one of the worst publishers out there, to dump additional funds into years of post release DLC is hopeful at best. This isn't Call of Duty, and its a drop in the bucket compared to what their non-licensed IP's take in.

They released quite a bit of DLC at start, but that was because hype for these games outside of hardcore fans dies quickly. If they wanted to get in on the casual players who had picked this up they had to release early while they still had an interest in the game.

Speaking of the XP boosts, i haven't been on FOC in a while, have they upped the XP at all or does anyone know if they plan to?
