still holding onto hope that we may get to play this someday. if anyone makes a working build i'll happily be a play-tester for you (since there is not much i can provide. since i don't know how to code)

Hello! I decided to write a small post with news about the current progress. This time I will please you with a few short videos of what I was able to achieve with the cache files from FreepDryer.

Unfortunately, I still lack a huge number of files, but it was enough to get started. As you can see from the video, I was able to launch and play in several game locations. Everything is loaded as it should have been in the original, without any changes in the client code, except for links for downloading resources (changed so that they were loaded from my computer), since the original ones are no longer available on the network for a long time. It's a pity that there were only Decepticon locations in the cache, I would like to look at the Autobot base too.

At the moment, not everything is working so smoothly and there is still a lot of work to be done, but now, I believe that progress is noticeable.

Well, according to tradition, if any of you or your friends have a cache or other original game files, I will always be glad for your help!

Would any of you modders be interested on working on Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, War for Cybertron or Fall of Cybertron on PC with me? I know of a method that might work. I just need some hands. I know of a way that a Japanese MMORPG was able to be modded into a local state at least. The game ran on Unreal Engine 4. Now I know the previous TF games by activision were on Unreal Engine 3 but that just makes it all the much easier to change the net code direction instead of looking for a server that no longer exists. If you know of someone or are someone that is interested in possibly getting something done to the previous games. LMK. I could possibly help get something started.

 

revenge of the fallen is already on PC though. same with War and Fall of cybertron, there just not on steam is all

 

I think you misunderstand. I am talking about allowing the game to access the multiplayer side of things instead of being restricted to the base game. Currently all those games can only access the single player campaign (story). The goal is to access the multiplayer. ex. TDM, Node capture, Escalation (wave game mode), etc....

 

i see. i never played the multiplayer so i could get behind that (only play FOC MP)

 

Hello everyone. A friend of mine helped me spread information on another site, maybe someone else will answer. For now, we can only wait and hope that someone else still has files with Autobots or arenas. While we wait, I think I will now focus on bringing everything to a more workable state. If there is any more serious progress, I will definitely inform you here.

I doubt this will help with anything because it isn't the cache files but here is this.... It is the web client for TFU. I was very upset when I heard that it was going to be going away so I grabbed the web client. Funny thing is once they shut the website and windows client down you could still play the servers for like a week using this client.

Hello, thank you so much for your help, I will look at these files, maybe there is something in them that I have not yet found before.

Lately, I have very little free time, so I can't say that I have come very far since the last progress report, but this does not mean that I abandoned the project. Once we can collect all the missing game files, we can go deeper into this.

Thanks to everyone who sends files or just answers in this thread, this makes me understand that the game is still interesting to someone. Thanks to wonderful people like all of you, I can continue this project knowing that everything will not be just wasted.
