I personally think transformers could make a game or story in any genre, but I think a horror game could be really cool. So I'd like to hear what other people would like in a transformers horror game. Two ideas I had are maybe you go to like an abandoned ship and Shockwave or Jhiaxus had like a lab on it and there's failed experiments like terrorcons or predacons you have to fight them or the other one being after Transformers Prime exploring Cybertron after being reactivated and cybertronian wild life has evolved to survive in the barren environment and maybe some new primitive tribe like cybertronians are also there and not very happy. I know the ideas are very inspired by other things(The first one screams Dead Space) but I think they'd really work for transformers.
Pfft. No version of Transformers will ever be allowed to do genuine horror. Nothing that's actually scary at least. I mean, it'd probably have to have too much gore. No matter how mature a TF series or game is, no matter who it's primarily targeted towards, it will always have to be child frie... ...Oh, right. Never mind then.
AOE and DOTM have pretty much established that Transformers doesn't always have to be for children anymore. That being said, let CAPCOM handle a horror-style TF RFG and I'll be thoroughly pleased. So long as it's made sure they keep true to the franchise. I.e. actually being able to transform and all that jazz.
I've said it before, but I've always had this idea for a FOC expansion survival/horror game with Elita One and her squad fighting against a Shockwave-controlled Cybertron and his Insecticon horde after the events of FOC.
Would be cool to have a story that takes you back to Garus 9 after the surge and after LSOTW to investigate a mysterious signal only to have your ship destroyed your team scatterd and find out you are not alone... Some Cons never left and they are scared feral almost because something horrifying and hungry is shifting in the darkness, hunting. Maybe a Scorpnok , Shockwave or Overlord experiment, throw in some glimmerish Jumpstarters, or Pyro and Rotorstorm after sparks and you got a game.
I've always wanted to see a Transformers video game inspired mainly by the IDW universe. A shooter maybe, or something along the lines of Mass Effect. I think if the right people were working on it, it could be pretty scary. I'd totally buy a game based on LSOTW, without a reasonable doubt.
The Dweller in the Depths is on the loose. The more bots it touches, the more energy vampires you have to contend with. Weapons are useless against it. And they're everywhere! Or. . . You've fallen into a ship teeming with cosmic rust. Shambling bots lurch towards you, desperate for help, literally falling apart as they come towards you. One touch and you're infected. In addition to the zombie-fied bots walking around, the rust is eating through key structural points, making the entire area unstable and in danger of collapse or explosion.
That would be pretty amazing! Hell it could even have patches which could allow you to take control of Fort Max during the fall or playing as Springer when they are taking on Overlord!
