YouTube - Nostalia Critic on TFA (Not Real) Hope no one takes this too seriously - I did it for fun, after all.
That's... not saying much at all. That's like saying Bloodrayne is the most bearable Uwe Boll film. It's still a Uwe Boll film.
Nicely done. In fact, I'd love to see the Critic take on some Transformers shows, especially Beast Wars.
Have you even seen the series? Cybertron/Galaxy Force is considered the best of the four animes by many fans.
It's actually six Japan made series. Beast Wars Second and Neo were never brought over, but they still count. Cybertron is the best out of the six though, it just suffers a bit from pacing issues and being made to fit into 52 episodes when really it could have done with another 5-6 or so to properly wrap up the plot threads.
Not really. A large batch of Cybertron and Armada episodes are up there with some of Animated's best episodes. Energon is the worst TF series. Only very few like it.
Cybertron was the best Unicron Trilogy series, IMO, mostly because it had awesome toys, AND a decent show. But Armada had a decent show, and shitty toys. It's succesor, Energon, had great toys, but a shitty show. Energon has a likable toyline that gave us some awesome molds, but like everyone else, I think the TV series is ASS.
Transformers Cybertron is the only recent TF media with both great toy line and and an enjoyable series. Animated was a good show with okay toy line not the best.
I think both had a good show, and good toyline, only in different ways. Cybertron toys were great with their amount of detail, and breadth of designs (All the different planets had their own designs, very cool choice). The molds were great and had a good aesthetic that translated well into all the re-decos they did in Universe. A very "efficient" line. Animated succeeds at pumping a lot of personality into the toys, each mold just shouts what that character's role is. Animated isn't as broad as Cybertron, but it does encompass a lot of archetypes of TFs. However, Animated lacks a lot of "useful" molds. The toys were designed specifically for one aesthetic, that without tweaking, don't translate well into other lines. This isn't a BAD thing, as ROTF Lockdown has shown us, because it's really the characters that post-Animated lines will want to remember, not molds. In closing, both lines had a great run, and added a lot of awesomness to TF history.
I think everyone might be taking the video a little too seriously. XDD Personally I've never seen Cybertron myself, but I used it here to represent how we've gotten nothing but TF anime for the last 8(?) years, and the last really GOOD show was in the US (Beast era shows). Overall don't take the "statement" in the video too seriously, all in good fun.
I never enjoyed the series, for me it just plained sucked (seriously, powering up and shouting attacks is lame). The toyline was however good (still Scourge´s wrists..wtf?). The Nostalgia Critic is spot on with this, even if it´s fake.
Yeah I can't stand most of Cybertron, terrible pacing bad voice acting (I f**king hate all the accents) and just annoying characters
Well, this certainly sounded familiar to me. I think the Unicron Trilogy sucked mostly due to Energon and Cybertron, Armada was 50/50. Animated is the best to me, alongside the BayFormers tie-in stories post TF1, and the toys for Animated and ROTF are spectacular. Animated had basically everything Beast Wars had - good voice-acting, strong plot, and new, but fun characters. The tie-ins for BayFormers had what I wanted - actual characterization for the robots, particularly the Decepticons. But, this is turning into a discussion thread, so...
