Not sure if I am in the right section but next week I am going to be visiting the US and was wondering if anyone can tell me any stores I can find some good TF's deals?

Going to be in LA, Las Vegas, NY and San Fran

More into CHUG, transformers prime and MP figures

Also are there any stores you can order and pay online and then pick them up from the store?

    Cheers

Don't know of anything in those areas, but like WWELORD said. Also, in my area, I love in Illinois, there areactual toy resell shops where people take things they don't want, sometimes. Look for places like that, also.

I went on a holiday across America last December and in my spare time we got to TF hunting, so here's my findings.

When I was in New York I bought the entire second (Hoist Wave) and third waves (Skids Wave) of Generations, plus some of the rarer Prime figures like Skyquake and two waves of Kreon Micro-Changers at the TRU on Times Square. Definitely my best TF haul of my trip.

In LA/Anaheim I also got quite a few in the Target closest to Disneyland. If you're staying near Disneyland, I suggest you take a look! It was a 10 minute walk from my hotel and was open almost 24 hours iirc.

In Vegas I didn't see anything good. I tried by going to the TRU closest to the Vegas Strip but it didn't have anything worthwhile.

Of course you should also pick up some stuff as Universal Studios if you're going! I went to both and I reckon that the LA one had a better range of TF merch.

i will never get used to people from europe saying "holiday" instead of "vacation" lol.

anyways.. i would just search on google for different comic shops in the area's you're going.. those cities are bound to have some nice stores.

also.. i'd head over to each of the corresponding sightings threads and ask the locals in those places.

good luck.. hope you enjoy your time here.

oh.. and.. how can you come to the US and not even visit its birthplace! lol, i'm just kidding.

Aside from asking in the Cali and NY sightings thread and going hunting at big box stores, you can check online stores that don't normally ship to NZ or have prohibitively expensive shipping and check if they have stuff you want that you can ship to the US

Even if you're not going into Universal Studios, Evac is also available at the Universal Studio stores in the Orlando and LA airports.

Walmart has ship to store for their website. But of course you will have to still be nearby that walmart when the items get in. Not sure how long you are going to be in one area.

Yeah both Walmart and Target have a store pickup/ship to store option. I think they'll hod the item for you up to two weeks. So if the sites will take your NZ credit card, you can order the stuff you want in NZ and pick them up in a store near where you'll be staying at.

Also be on the lookout for TRU 20% coupons if you're looking for MPs, although only Prowl and Sunstorm are available right now at retail.

San Francisco has a few good stores. Cards and Comics Central on Geary Boulevard is very good. They usually carry a good stock of import Transformers toys. They usually appear at conventions, and are nice folks.

Cards and Comics Central - Welcome!

If you are in the Los Angeles area, you may want to check out Frank and Sons collectible show, it is like a huge collector swap-meet, or like a convention. It is in the City of Industry area. They are open Wednesdays and Saturdays only.

    Home -

Otherwise you have the typical retail stores like Target, TRU, etc. that are hit or miss. Have fun and good luck!

If you know where you're going to be early enough in advance, you might buy stuff on eBay or other sites that might normally cost you too much in out-of-US shipping to have it delivered for you to pick up at your last stop in the States.
