Yeah completely agree. I think we can already see some likely retools and repaints in this line and that still offer a lot of characters on that list lack repaint potential.

 

I wasn't comparing them. I was saying that I'd rather keep my money for something more affordable and that is a decent representation of who I want to display on my shelf.

Word of advice, never try to use the "inside source told me" line. No one ever believes it because it's always false. So IF in the one in a billion chance you actually are correct, probably would have been wiser to just keep the information to yourself.

In this day and age words are cheap and often false. Prove what you say and then your words will have weight.

 

Who says it has to be next year? Sometimes "inside sources" speculate the same way we do.

 

As for me I really really wish they would do Computron as he was my favorite Combiner from G1 and his proportions were just perfect,whereas some like Superion were just atrocious like Silverbolt's spindly legs made him weak legged in combined mode and always leaned forward worse than any other combiner.

But by no means was Superion the worst combiner,the worst was Devastator,with him being the first he had 0% articulation in the legs,knees,waist,and head in combined mode,only his arms had movement to point his gun but that's it.

And I would love to see Hasbro release a Predaking Team in the Combiner Wars line but not holding out much hope,and as others have said I wish they would continue the line into 2016 so we could get more of the teams like Devastator (only if he is super poseable unlike his G1 or Energon sets),The Seacons,Monstructor,and as above Predaking and I'd be happy.

 

What are you getting at? Did I not make myself clear? Perhaps the way I worded my first post was a little off to what I was intentionally implying but "sure" just sounds like you have a problem?

What part did I compare about them? Did I compare the quality? Did I compare how they look? Did I compare the engineering? No?

I compared the price, a price in which I'd rather pay less to get a decent representation of Menasor and Superion.

 

So did they specify whether or not we'd be getting 4 voyager and 16 deluxe molds (or whatever number it was) or 4 voyager and 16 deluxe figures altogether?
With what's already been revealed, I don't think there's time for more. Going by the former we'd have room for maybe Scattershot as a Menasor-style retool of Silverbolt, a new motorcycle mold for Afterburner that can be doubled for Grooze, and a Nosecone that gets retooled into Bonecrusher or Scrapper, ignoring any robot mode differences. That leaves us with the following molds:
1 Alpha Bravo (Assuming that he isn't a retool of the other 3)/Blades
2 Air Raid (Assuming that he isn't a retool of the other 3)/ strafe
3 Firefly (Assuming that he isn't a retool of the other 3) strafe
4 Skydive (Assuming that he isn't a retool of the other 3) strafe
5 Dragstrip
6 Breakdown
7 Dead End/Lightspeed
8 Offroad/ First Aid
9 Afterburner/Groove
10 Nosecone/Bonecrusher or Scrapper
Giving us room for:
11 Scavenger
12 Bonecrusher of Scrapper as their own figure
13 Mixmaster
14 Divebomb
15 Tantrum/Headstron
16 Rampage

1 Prime/Menasor/Defensor
2 Silverbolt/Computron dude

That would leave 3 dedicated Autobot teams, 3 dedicated decepticon teams, and an Optimus cause he sells.

However, if we go by the latter and it's just 16/4 figures a year
1-4: Superion
5-8: Menasor
8-12: Devastator
13-16: Predaking

Optimus
Menasor
Silverbolt
Devastator or Predaking voyager

In that case what you posted would be impossible unless the 16/4 rule was only for half of the year.
Also, 1 dedicated autobot team vs 3 dedicated decepticon teams isn't Hasbro's MO.

tl;dr
Chances of this being real are really high to or outright impossible depending on how you look at what they classify as 16 deluxes/4 voyagers.

 

It's definitely just 16 Deluxe toys. 16 Deluxe moulds would be completely unprecedented and is incredibly unlikely. For reference:

2012: 8 new Generations Deluxe moulds
2013: 6 new Generations Deluxe moulds
2014: 9 new Generations Deluxe moulds

 

I'm not seeing where there can be anything besides Stunticons, Aerialbots, Protectobots (recent exclusive has no real affect on this happening *IMO) & Combaticons (WfC/FoC version has no real affect on this happening *IMO)...I could see Constructicons bringing in 2016 with various exclusive redecoes throughout the year & maybe a New Autobot combiner exclusive deco to get as much out of those potential molds...after that I worry unless the redecoes/retools start to mix molds between teams redecoes seem limited or non-existent...out side of the obscure possiblities that fit more what the club would do...not seeing the Predacons happening though I'd love to be wrong...I like the idea of the Terracons and Monstercons sharing some mold and if the Technobots can get a new mold Strafe and Scattershot maybe they could get done in the coming years...but not seeing room next year outside off Menasor, Superion, Defensor and Bruticus...oh and whatever they have planned for Op...

 

I have a superawesome inside source that tell me a rumor too: Hasbro is going to produce Voyager Shockwave, Overlord and Six Shot figures due out next year. Not only that but, as part of Combiner Wars, all three will be able to combine with the upcoming Leader Megatron figure to form Overmegasixwave.

I forsee any future Combiner Wars figures as only having 1-2 new molds and the rest being retools of earlier figures - and with that, I put my money on Bruticus and Menasor being the next two. Reason I say that is look at Alpha Bravo's head, it's spot on for Vortex. Remold the exterior of the copter to make it a bit more militaristic and there's your new Vortex done and dusted. Create a new mold for Brawl and Blast Off (or even heavily remold another Aerialbot), retool Motormaster into Onslaught and you're good to go.

 

Bruticus hasn't _just been done_ though. FoC Brute sucks so bad and isn't in a G1 homage design. It's five crappy figure with space alt modes sorta similar to the earth modes. Screw that thing.

 

I got a buddy who works for Hasbro and he tell me that they're planning a Scavengers combiner of the MIGHTY MEGA PUNCHER.

Your source is slightly mistaken.

My source says that Overlord is actually a leader class with his two vehicle modes becoming the legs and Sixshot and Shockwave become the arms.

 

Can't forget Megatron.
