This is a place to post any predictions about the 2015 'Combiner Wars' theme.

Deluxe predictions:

-a repaint/retool wave of the Stunticons done up as G1 Autobots to compliment the Optimus Prime in wave 1: Mirage from Dragstrip, Sideswipe from Breakdown, Brawn from Off-road (since we're getting Gears in the Legends size), and another Autobot from Dead End (I want to say Jazz, but the chest wouldn't work; even if it was retooled to be a fake car front, people would still complain)

-also in the repaint wave would be a more accurate Slingshot from one of the other Aerialbots and a more accurate Wildrider from Breakdown or Dead End (Off-road not being named 'Brakeneck' and his blue robot parts make me think that he's not supposed to nessisarily be Wildrider)

-New-mold Protectobots and Combaticons

-the Technobots as heavy retools: Scattorshot from Silverbolt, Strafe from any of the limb Aerialbots that are jets, Lightspeed from Dead End, Nosecone from Brawl and Afterburner from Groove

-the whole 'Legends figures being part of the combiners' thing almost opens up the possibility of Devastator, with Hook being a Legends figure that wraps around the neck and forms shoulders (otherwise Long Haul and Hook as a deluxe two pack sold at a voyager price point)- a bonus to either of these is that a Pworl figure could be made that fits in to form Prowlvastator  

-since Powerglide has a gun mode, Bomb/Hardshell might also (though I like to think that he turns into a giant grenade  )

 

Will Combiner Wars Usher In Other Combiners?

With the new Generation theme for next year, should we expect other combiners besides Stunticons and Aeiralbots?

 

^I believe there is already a Legends Brawn in the works. I don't know if he is an original mold or a Gear repaint though.

 

Yeah, I was hoping we'd hear more about him and Gnaw.

Like FOC Combaticons saw Wrecker repaints, what if the Arielbots got a Scavenger's repaints?

These figures are based off of a IDW event anyway so

Alpha Bravo (Slingshot) = Spinister
Airaid = Misfire
Fireflight = Fulcrum
Skydive = Crackcase

Yeah I know Funpub is releasing a Krock...(Booooo!)

So that leaves Silverbolt = Flywheels!

And what do they combine to?

The Cybernought that Crackcase found!

 

I think in the autobots combiner, bumblebee will be a retool of the new chest car guy.

 

Well, Im not too sure. the two combinrers is 10 figures in by themselves, and we haven't seen 10 generations figures in one year ever (as far as I know)

 

I figure Alpha Bravo/ Slingshot would be used for Blades maybe, with heavy retooling, Vortex, Off-road/ Wildrider with retooling for Swindle.

Devastator.......maybe all six as either modern Legends/ Deluxe

Predaking .........all 5 Predacons Voyager Class maybe? Or keeping with the other teams, Razorclaw a Voyager and the other 4 slightly bigger Deluxes

Abominus.........obviously new molds, to differentiate from the Cyberverse Beast Hunters version

Monstructor .........Modern Legends Class (Repaint: Dinoking)

Liokaiser.......new molds, if Hasbro wants to be that obscure

Piranicon.....will have to be new molds

We might have to wait a bit for the Protectobots, didn't a set of non combining versions pop up in the news section?

Bruticus needs another shot

 

I hope so ( maybe the Combiner Theme will carry into 2016)

 

My predictions:

-We will get the Autobot set. There will be no Bumblebee (as this is suppose to be connected to IDW) so it will be made up of Bots from RID's cast. That should make it easier to pin down.

-We will get a new Devestator.

-We will get a Prowl figure. I keep waffling on us getting a Legends Prowl that turns into a new head for Devestator or a Voyager Prowl that can join with the Constructicons


My Hopes/Long Shot Prediction

-We get a new Predaking set

-We will get a Monstructor Set (he did appear a lot last year...)


Not Going to Happen But Still Throwing it Out

-An Ironhide Voyager with the Dinobots as Deluxe limbs (since Ironhide is their new leader). A Grimlock Classic Voyager also made. Will NEVER happen but throwing it out there.


A 'Oh God, Hasbro would do this, wouldn't they?' Prediction:

-In a stunning event... we will get a Voyager Twilight Sparkle (who turns into a balloon!) that combines with Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity and Pinkie Pie to become Alicornus Prime, with a legends Spike figure that turns into the gun for the combiner. LegoTFGuy instantly begins weeping like a baby.


As for non-combiners later in the year (as I can't see the Combiner War lasting all year) I think if Arcee/Chromia/Windblade sell well we will see Nautica get a toy. We will get another Beast Wars figure (My money would be on Terrasaur and Blackarachnia). We will get a surprise Leader none of us expected to come. The 'Oh my god they actually made it!' figure this year will be a Deluxe Alpha Trion.

 

Only if it sells well enough that we might get more combiners.

 

I'm fairly sure they said they'll be 6 Voyagers and 16 deluxes in the Combiner Wars theme, and all figures can combine.

 

Just give me a Computron, Hasbro, just give me a Computron. Pleeeeeease.

Terrorcons would be nice too, but, Technobots so bad.

 

I would be very surprised if we don't see a Devastator with Prowl.

 

What was the amount of Deluxe and Voyagers figures releasing next year.

It was announced during the NY Toyfair.

 

Combiner Wars "Alpha Bravo" is just Vortex in a more Aerialbot-like deco. The head and copter mode SCREAM Vortex.



So a Combaticon set is bound to happen. Swindle could be a repaint or minor retool of the Stunticon Offroad.

My guess is that the combiner sets have a similar limitation imposed by Hasbro during Energon... you can make X figures... but repaint some if you want more combiners possibly.

 

Yes, but no doubt there will be a LOT of repaints going around. Offroad could get used for Swindle, First Aid, and whoever disguised as Wildrider in Masquerade; Alpha Bravo as Vortex and Blades; Motormaster as Hot Spot and maybe even Onslaught (and obviously Optimus).
If Offroad and Alpha Bravo are any indication, they may just make up totally new/ay different from the original source members for the other teams too. Blast Off in particular has a good chance of being a jet with a different name.

 

Hasbro announced earlier there's going to be four combiners. And we've seen over 10 Generations figures a year since always.

There's going to be AT LEAST another two combiners. Probably lots of Legends. And likely regular Deluxes and other size classes that aren't combiners.

 

I think the combiner wars theme is going to sell incredibly well and be hard to keep in stock because of demand.

 

I'd say Defensor has a pretty high chance. Hasbro said Combiner Wars is gonna tie-in with the IDW comics. Menasor and Superion already exist there, and while the Protectobots aren't even a team yet, all 5 are on the Lost Light now. And so is Megatron who's an expert on combiner tech.

I'd say it's no coincidence the Protectobots just happened to end up on the Lost Light together after Dark Cybertron, with the Combiner Wars tie-in on the horizon. Plus Superion's sporting a helicopter for a limb, and we just KNOW there's gonna be some mold re-use.

 

Agree. Instant sell-outs. The third parties won't know what hit them.
