Post something you picked up lately that, given a chance, you would not buy again. Maybe it'll help save someone else the disappointment - who knows maybe someone else will buy it off of you!?

    I'll start...

    1. YOTH Platinum Edition Starscream. What was I thinking??? I was thinking I have a Starscream collection, but never had this mold, even though I have the superior Voyager size of it. My collector addiction played me for a fool, this is a piece of crap at list price. Nice paint, until you transform it ONCE. He looks dumb anywhere I put him. Wish I had that $90 back.

    2. AD-12 Movie Advance "Revenge" Optimus Prime. On a whim I added this to my Chosen Prime order along with Takara Evasion Prime (which I love, incidentally). The pic made it look like a Buster-ized version of the Voyager mode. But in hand, it's that crappy wine-colored red that doesn't look right next to anything else in the collection. I had the original US release to boot, I just thought this would display better. I was wrong. $40 flushed. :(  At least I pilfered his chrome parts for my Hasbro mold which added a little class to it.

So that's my $130 of regret so far in 2014.

BH Darksteel. I had a hankering for him after watching Predacons Rising and seeing him on clearance. I panicked and bought him for $16 on Amazon once I realized he was out of stock everywhere locally. Popped him open, and then saw how awkward he is in robot mode: his shoulders don't lock in place, and, thus, you can see through his torso in about five places. (The effect isn't so noticeable if you look at him from a slight angle.) It's not my biggest regret ever, but it was $16 I could have spent elsewhere.

Generations Goldfire was definitely a regret shortly after purchase. I got it out of the packaging and found issue after issue with the mold and the toy.
Panels that refused to hold where they were supposed to, Bronzey-gold Plastic with pearl-swirls that indicate Goldfire might eventually disintegrate, shoulder kibble that makes the toy look awkward when the arms are raised at the shoulders, Loose Joints right out of the package, and an overall ugly appearance. The only good thing about Goldfire was the included Comic book with led directly into the Dark Cybertron comics. Dammit, Winter 2013, Why'd ya have to make me miss Waspinator?

Nothing yet this year. I only bought like 5 figures this year and all of them were cool. You can't go wrong with mp 10b, aoe scorn and generations waspinator. Also got legends starscream and megatron 2 packs for desk figures.

Since becoming an MP only collector, I haven't regretted a single purchase. Before that, the last figures I regretted were a bunch of CHUG figures that didn't scratch my G1 itch like I'd hoped they would. Don't have to worry about that anymore.

Personally I don't find many CHUG figure from before 2011 very good anymore in terms of being something to display. They just reek of being outdated. But they're still good to fiddle with.

Had to be TFP 1st Voyager Predaking. Was fine until they released the gigantic Cyberverse version. Same price, ridiculously way better paint and better proportions. Made my Predaking look like a total piece of shit for $20.

I'd have to say Generations Legends Bumblebee with whatever the hell that helicopter is. The toy is crap, period. It doesn't scale with anything except the other figs, monkey arms, the new minicon things are possibly the worst things ever committed to plastic. The only saving grace is that I'll someday slap a new head on him to make Scrounge. If the other Legends class figs are this crap, I'm gonna vomit.

I honestly haven't bought that much so far so I don't really have any regrets yet. Actually scratch that, bought a G1 Rippersnapper which I wasn't aware was rusty as all heck. I love the figure otherwise, I'm just lazy and dread getting rid of the rust and rust stains. Minor regret for something I paid $7 for.

Seconded. I bought mine quite some time ago, but I'm fairly certain that was the last time I fully regretted a TF purchase.

Other than that, the latest time I wasn't completely satisfied with a TF was BH Arcee. She's pretty plainly inferior to the FE version in every possible way... but I don't exactly HATE her. I have a soft spot for motorcycle formers. Even ones that suck.

    Not recent, but IDW Skids.

Leg joint snapped when reversing the legs.

Super glue held for a while.

After a shelf dive or two it broke again.

The majority of the BH line that I picked up, and, sadly, Takara Lost Age Dispensor. Neat redeco, but I forgot how sub-par that mold is, and the novelty of the idea doesn't quite justify the $35.

Generations Scoop. I love the Targetmasters but Scoop is just so plain and damn boring

Non TF: Designer Series Talon, i'd gotten the Batman and was blown away so I got the Talon, and immediately the sword holder on the back fell off, I lost a sword, and knife broke, and his pouches keep falling off. Just a huge bummer figure

Right now? Buying the Auto Assembly UK non-attendee package. Been waiting since August 2013 for it and still nothing to show for it. Simon of AA did say they're making some headway with the delays in his last e-mail correspondence but honestly I'll believe it when I see it.
