Is there a reason why Optimus Prime got the WFC and FOC treatment whereas Megatron was only released as a WFC deluxe? I'm having real problems getting hold of a MISB Cybertronian Megatron

Because brick and mortar stores like optimus prime (and Hasbro hates us. Sorry, had to say it since it hasn't been said in a while)
I never played FOC is meg's mode different?

 

My theory is that it's a twofold thing:
1. Bad guys don't sell as well (don't ask me why, it's a thing)
2. Megatron's FoC body isn't that huge a departure from his WFC body. Unlike Prime, whose body is a completely and totally different thing in every way, Megs could have been a retool.

...which begs the question of why it wasn't just retooled BH style with more spikes and a mace instead of an arm cannon or something, but oh well.

 

But they gave Soundwave the WFC and FOC treatment? Doesnt make sense. Maybe I'm just pissed that I cant get hold of a Cybertronian Megatron at present lol

EDIT - Never played FOC? My god, buy it lol best transformers game out there. Cant remember if Megatron was any different in FOC apart from he was a badass floating tank  

 

The redid soundwave so he could carry his minions. Honestly i wanted megs to be upsized as well, but we can only have what hastak gives us.

 

Soundwave was redone as a voyager because Hasbro was trying to cash in on the fans desire for cassette bots... Then gave us shitty, shelf warming data discs  

 

Joke answer: Because they knew the FoC design was awful.

Real answer: No one knows outside of Hasbro.

 

I think the Battle over Cybertron 3 pack that has WFC Megs in it with the purple highlights looks like FOC Megs a bit. Try finding that fig.

 

Kinda of topic but I would really like to see the wfc megs repainted into a galvatron

 

I've seen them on eBay but they go for over £35.00, more than I wanna pay Tbh. Mind you, I need cybertronian bumblebee too so it could be the way to go.

 

I'd say that's both the joke and real answer.
