    I added a kre-o and a construct-bot to my collection??!!

Never in a million years would I have ever thought......I would own either.

A good sale gave me a reason to see what both were about, went with versions of Megatron and to my surprise --- I like both enough to add to my display--

Anything ever surprisingly end up in your collections...you never expected to own or ever like?

I managed to acquire the Movie Ride-exclusive Deluxe Evac through sheer luck as he was offered for sale alongside the Movie Comettor I'd been trying to track down for years. Since the only real way to get the figure is to spend assloads of money just to get to a Universal park, and I don't plan on visiting them anytime soon, it was a real boon to find him for only the price needed to buy him in the ride gift shop.

I never expected to get a Masterpiece Grimlock. I always secretly wanted one, but at crazy aftermarket prices, I knew I'd never be able to justify buying him.

I ended up finding one, complete, at an extremely reasonable and affordable price. Snatched him up as soon as I could, and I don't regret the decision. He's awesome.

I sold my 2012 Botcon set to lend my dad some money a couple of years ago, and he repaid me with Encore Fort Max. I never thought I'd own one of those.

For me, it was G1 Fortress Maximus. I always wanted one but the aftermarket prices were crazy even back 10+ years ago. Then Brave Maximus came out in the Korean RID line and I remember some places had him pretty damn reasonable. Hell BBTS had him on sale for a $99.99 at one point! The only problem was I had no money to spend at the time. So I gave up and figured it was not meant to be.

Then when Takara announced the Encore reissue, I couldn't pre-order fast enough when BBTS put up their pre-orders (even though I opted for the slower arriving and cheaper option). I got him and it took a while to realize I FINALLY have one of my holy grails. I have not regretted this purchase one damn bit either. Even when places today have him discounted around $100-150 off, I do not regret paying full price one little bit. Especially since it was cheaper than vintage and was complete and bright and shiny new.

For me it was movie figures. I wasn't a fan of the movie, but I am a fan of the toys.

Not all of them, but I have 9 of them. HA's are Leader class figures are great!

Movie toys in general. Hated anything movie related with a passion, bought Stockade and Nightbeat 7. Figured from there it wouldn't hurt to buy molds I really liked.

Also MISB Takara G1 Rippersnapper. Missed Butt by a few seconds, but snagged Rippersnapper from BBTS faster than my brain could logically think of a reason not to. :lol  Never really thought I'd own anything G1 MISB. When he finally did get to my house I think spent a good 40 minutes just staring at him in my hands.

I just bought Evac at Universal last Sunday. And I really like his alt mode. Never thought I would buy him but glad I did.

It's not as rare as that although I only saw it once the Cyberverse is very nice, has tons of detail.

I never though I would love Robot Heroes as much as I did, so sad they went away with all the G1 they did.

I have some stuff I'd never thought I'd own.. things I'd spent hours online ogling pics of and salivating over. Stuff I'd been hunting for years that either never comes up for sale or I thought I'd never be able to justify. A good example is X-Dimensions Bumble which I believe I paid $150 for.

X-Dimensions Bumble is a blue/white/black/red/pink redeco of Armada Perceptor.

FOC Soundwave. It was more of an impulse buy, but I can't imagine my classics without him, as he and his cassettes are great and essential.

Never thought I'd have a detachment of Seekers in my collection, but the Five G1 Seekers (Two Thrusts, Dirge, Starscream, and Thundercracker) on my printer say otherwise.
I never thought I'd find the 30th Anniversary Legends-Class figures at retail, but one trip to Target netted me all three of the ones I didn't find at Big Lots!.

For me it was any third party stuff. I would only buy official hastak stuff. Once I got the PE "Springer" and saw the quality I was hooked. Now I have third party topspin twintwist fort max and galvatron and love them.

    G1 Action Masters.

Hated the stupid concept (Transformers that don't transform) and refused to give them the light of day. Then snagged one off Ebay years ago for cheap, and realized they're pretty neat. Still a stupid concept for what was at the time a dying brand, but as toys they're really cool.

Remolds/repaints of things I already had. More than one version of a character. Any Optimus Prime figure. Any Megatron figure. Figures bought on character appeal rather than engineering appeal. Statues.

For me.. It was ANYTHING "Animated". Alas, I ended up buying the Walmart Bumblebee 3-pack (Animated, Classics, and "Rusty" movie-verse). I've since picked up Animated Starscream and Shockwave.

*edit*Also, having seen shiftypenguin's sig (^), MP-10 had been on my list. Never truly felt the need to replace my MP "Walmart Prime". Though now, having seen the scale of the new MP line, I picked up YOTH Prime the other day. (I'll me repainting him soon enough though)
