I own 20th Anniversary MP O. Prime (have all accessories but no box), Takara Skywarp (complete with box), and Takara Thundercracker. I also have the TRU version of MP Starscream. I am wondering if it were feasible, shold I try to sell Prime, Thundercracker, and Skywarp on ebay or something, take the funds to buy the Hasbro versions of Thundercracker and Skywarp, and then try to get MP-10 with whatever I have left over? Look slike Takara versions of the seekers are going up to $250, or so, and 20th Prime is going anywhere up to $150. if I were to get $50 less per figure, that would be $500. Hasbro Thundercracker is around $150, avg on ebay. Skywarp is $130-160 on ebay. MP10 is anywhere from $180-250 for Hasbro version, $300-$400 for Takara on ebay, looks like. So seems like it would work, with me maybe paying a little bit in cash. What are you guys/girls' thoughts on this? Am I crazy?
If they were doubles yes. I asked myself the same exact question but couldn't I'd keep as much MPs as I can. I sold MP DVD Prime. No regrets. But I do regret selling my second copy of MP Grimlock.
I don't have any doubles, no... This would be a straight sell of my only copies of these. The goal is to get MP-10 but still have versions of the seekers. I would think having all three HAsbro seekers would be ok because they would be of the same maker. Are any of them the MP-11 style?
I have all three MP seekers (older batch) and MP04. Don't have any of the new MP seekers nor MP10(yet). If it's only the money that bothers you, I'd say go ahead and "trade" them off and get the ones you like. I, myself would like the Takara MP10 version just to keep all the boxes nice and black.
I'd say do it for the Seekers, at least, because the MP-11 mold is an improvement in pretty much every way without sacrificing what made the MP Seeker mold great. I still keep my MP-01L just to have the mold, even though I own the Hasbro MP-10.
The MP-11 mold is substantially better than the MP-03 mold, and I personally think that replacing Starscream and Thundercracker is a must. Skywarp too, as the Hasbro version is better, but Iwouldn't rule out getting the Igear Skywarp either.. But no matter what you do, you have to get an MP-10.. No MP collection is complete without one. Although, I must say I'm glad I still have my MP-01 as he looks awesome with the new KFC Ultra Magnus and MP Rodimus. Look at some pictures of that trio and you may not want to sell him.
Smaller, has the trailer and all the accessories, and looks a lot more like cartoon iteration. Also has much better articulation and is way more poseable.
MP-10 and MP-01 are two entirely different molds. MP-10 has a much more articulated and proportional robot mode and a much cleaner truck mode, has a full trailer w/ Roller and a mini Spike, and is a fair bit smaller (about modern Leader class size as opposed to the Supreme class MP-01). However, he also scales perfectly with all of the MP figures since his release, as well as the Seeker mold. The way I see it, MP-01 is a great Optimus Prime toy to put in a collection of high-end large toys; MP-10 is the perfect Optimus Prime toy to put in a Masterpiece collection.
About 2 inches shorter, mold is more accurate to the cartoon animation, comes with the trailer. I have an MP10 (and MP10b AND YotH) but still wanna get an MP01.
Scale chart be damned, I prefer my Prime big like MP-01. I always display in bot mode so a trailer is just another accessory to store. I agree on the seeker molds, trade up to the MP-11 versions. Hip kibble is offensive.
There are mods available for you at radicon section. If you're interested. MP10 will look great with the ack small batches of MPs.
