Here they are, as requested. Apparently there is a way to shave even more plastic off the assembly so that the rear kibble sits even higher but I didn't go that far with my mods. I'm actually quite happy with the way it turned out since Sideswipe is mostly facing forward in my display so the kibble isn't nearly as noticeable but YMMV.
Dear god that is some backpack! I never liked that mold enough to do the mods. Figured it was a lost cause so it forever remains in alt mode on my movie shelf.
No idea why, but 1. Jazz 2. Bumblebee 3. Soundwave 4. Roadbuster 5. Sideswipe 6. Mudflap 7. Skids 8. Barricade 9. Leadfoot
1 - Jazz: One of the great figures, period 2 - Barricade 3 - Soundwave: Surprisingly fun, despite the weird feet 4 - Mudflap 5 - Skids 6 - Bumblebee: In the end, not the "definitive" Movieverse Bumblebee, but a decent figure and nice way to start the line 7 - Chromia: Nice figure...with the wrong deco on the mold (Arcee body) 8 - Roadbuster 9 - Leadfoot: I'm fine with him; he loses out because he's not weaponized like Roadbuster, though Steeljaw's a plus 10 - Sideswipe: Thanks the backpack and legs, he's well behind the other seven in my eyes, which is too bad given there are some things about it I like 11 - Arcee/Elita One: The Chromia body looks bad in 'bot mode; being the wrong mold for Arcee doesn't help that version Basics: 1 - Tailpipe: Loved all modes, plus his Targetmaster partner on top of things 2 - Reverb: Nice deco on an interesting alt mode 3 - Backfire: I'm possibly overvaluing him solely for his Targetmaster gun mode for larger figures 4 - Sandstorm/Half-Track: Decent figure, nothing sexy about him but nothing bad either 5 - Whirl: As opposed to Backfire, I think I might be undervaluing him. I do own and like him, but unlike the others I also forget I own him. 6 - Thunderhead/Crosshairs 7 - Icepick 8 - Drag Strip: If the deco and name had been taken from a random Micromaster or totally new character, I would've passed on him
This would be an issue if I displayed my figures with their sides prominently facing the viewer. But luckily, I don't.
Yea, that is my thoughts on him too. Really a good looking figure (IMO) from the front. It would be more of an issue for me if I displayed my figures backward.
jesus, i never realized how massive sideswipe's backpack is. i think it'd bother me just knowing it's there.
Yeah, Swipes is a nice looking fig from the front and he looks reasonably like his on-screen counterpart. The silver paint really helps a lot too. I love pairing him with my custom Leader Ironhide. They make a great Dreads-busting duo! It's even worse left stock/unmodded, lol. At least with some modding, the kibble is at least manageable and doesn't show so prominently from the front. But after the mod, the backpack's honestly not so bad because it's not as visible now (out of sight, out of mind). I'm more of a pose and display kinda collector rather than play with my figures a whole lot, so it works out for me. As I mentioned before, I really love Sideswipe's CGI model and overall movie design, so I'm willing to overlook the HA fig's shortcomings in my display.
Hello, newbie here. I just started collecting last October. I have a few of the HA figures. I have Jazz, Sideswipe (Silver and Shadow Blade) and Bee. I've really been wanting a Barricade but they're going for $100 and more on Ebay. So you all think the KO Barricade (the ones from China) is as nice as the actual HA? If so, then I'll be able to add good ole Barricade to my HA lineup.
Jazz is the best. Bee is my 2nd fav then barricade. I also have the wreckers and skids and they are ok.
Sheesh! Why are they getting so expensive? I'm glad I snagged mine up as soon as I saw it. I never would have thought it would triple in price.
Thanks, mate. He does look better from the front than the retail version but the back pack is still huge. I wish they'd skip the human alliance gimmick and use the ROTF deluxe mold for a bigger and more detailed figure.
NP. I rather like SS's alt mode and I do think it could have been possible to design SS to retain the interior cabin of the car for the HA gimmick while still having a fairly accurate bot mode, much like HA Jazz or Barricade. I'm thinking the two figures may have had different designers working on them. At any rate, the lack of SS in any of TF4: AOE's promotional material does not bode well for the character's fate, I'm afraid.
Yeah, the concept Corvette is really awesome. As for Sideswipe in AoE, I don't really mind as none of the figures I've seen thus far are worth picking up imo.
Jazz is one of the best movie verse toys. I really hope they get round to making topspin HA or at least some AOE HA's.
1. Jazz 2. BB 3. DOTM Skids (or dId I get Mudflap at Ross? Whatever). No others interested me. The line, while being a good idea and had promise just fell short. Now THIIS makes me want Sideswipe
I think Barricade didn't receive great distribution when it was released. It wasn't as bad as Mudflap, but it's been expensive on the secondary market almost since initial retail sightings popped up.
