So a lot of my friends find my TFs most interesting because of two things: the engineering and the alt modes. Considering many of these are made for children, the Bot designs dont really appeal to a lot of my friends since we're all 21+. But a few of the things that really make then want to pick these guys up are when they have realistic alt modes with full interiors. So far, the lines that have met these requirements are
    ROTF/DOTM Human Alliance
    Alternators
    Alternity

The Masterpiece line is halfway there, they've got great alt modes but the fact that they're really older cars means that only my parents/grandparents and their friends take an interest in them. Plus, their size doesn't allow them to have interiors without sacrificing a whole bunch more. So my question is, with these three lines mentioned above basically done with (it seems that Alternity is on the way out), do you think we'll see another line pick up, and what will it be like? What kind of vehicles? What makes would you like to see? Did you prefer one over the other? Personally I loved Alternity, nice solid figures even with limited articulation, but I wanted to see them branch out more. Too many repaints.

    OK.

Your talkin my shit here. See, I was a bit more GIJOE in the 80's, than TF. don't get me wrong, I LOVED my TFs, but Joe took a slight edge. Back then, now im more TF.

As a Kid, and still to this day,I have always always always wanted Transformers that could fit my GIJOEs. Or M.A.S.K. sized figures, just like HA figures. They weren't bad, but they could have been better. hell, look at the megablocks COD minifigs. MY "Ultimate Dave Transformer toys" would be exactly what you said. Full, Licensed, REAL alt modes, with interiors (I am all for compromise with interior) and Action figures that were COOL, and interacted with them in multiple ways, kinda like HA, but a lot of those "seat gun" parts didn't look too cool. I sure as hell would not want to ride in a chair, on Bumblebee's Arm running into battle competly in the open where everything that wants to kill me is METAL.

Im all about Compromising the bot mode too. Play with Human Alliance Jazz, and that's the kind of TF that I truly adore.

I think right now, the time is RIPE for a brand new M.A.S.K. outbreak. If Hasbro did real vehicles, and M.A.S.K.'d em out, with the TF tech and knowledge they have now, that would be the next biggest toy, series, movie..all of it. Real vehicles, with todays transformers toy technologies, could make some really interesting toys. Hell..The Stealth force mode on Leader bee, is one of my fav things from the whole DOTM line.

So, I would like to see a new M.A.S.K. line. Small, highly articulated action figures, with small weapons and backpacks and shit, with a "HAND SIZE STANDARD" where everything that can be or meant to be gripped is one size, and every figure can hold what they want good. Emphasis on the figures. They are not just a plastic pack in. It should be a focus. Make some really sweet M.A.S.K. and bad guy cars, choppers, bikes, jets, to where they all TF into baddass roadwarrior, futuristic, weapon laden DEATH machines. Rubber tires. Chrome wheels. Openeing doors cockpits..They transform into weaponized vehicles.

    EF yes.

as for Trasnformers, I would like to see the HA line revisited. I would love to have a HA Sideways. I Always said I wanted a HA ROTF scout Ransack..The Biplane?? YEA< imagine how cool THAT would be. Once again, make the figures GOOD. give em guns, and weapons and backpacks..

    I want a Human Alliance Boat transformer. A speedboat...A PBR..someting.

Hell, They could even do it in starwars shit, NOT using the old X-over tech, but modern HasTakOmy Tech on M.A.S.K. or HA scaled action figures.

Any of that stuff would be the best. The penultimate for ME though, would be GIJOE transformers. STR8 up freakin H.I.S.S. tank that TFs into some Ed-209 thing that a guy can still ride and control. I don't like the idea too much of a H.I.S.S. tank actually BEING a robot, like a transformer, with a personality...I would rather they be vehicles that Transform into Mechs.

But yea..anything M.A.S.K. or HA in the futre will be good. doing a new M.A.S.K. like with modern TF tech.. I just think that could be SO. baddass. Even those stealth force toys they had that TF's with the push of a button after you would the spring? Yea...SO much cool potential there. a REAL GOOD M.A.S.K. line would make a whole new fanbase and it could be a permanent toy for marketing.

That's actually something I never thought of. While I'm really interested in basically model cars that transform, the interaction between those and some human figures isn't a priority for me. But the thought of Hasbro using them to interact with Joes is pretty cool

With the MP line halfway there like you said, to me it doesnt make much business sense to start a separate Aleternity-like line. Seems like the two lines would be competing for the same customers - for car enthusiasts with a limited income they would be forced to buy one or the other, basically resulting in no net change in sales. One of the biggest factors thatndrew me into the MP line was the realistic looking autobot alt modes without hindering bot mode. Seems like with alternity, bot mode suffered.

I would be more down for alternity if they were all new characters based on some new TF fiction, rather than being the same oldncharacters rehashed again. If I want only one definitive g1 character toy, its going to be an MP. However, if they came up with some new characters, I might be down for some alternity.

I'm really more into the robot characters than the cars myself. Their bots first. Nothing wrong with the cars I'm just not a huge automotive enthusiast. Just a fan of robots that sometimes watches top gear.

And once you get out of the the diaclone vehicle range characters and start going into dinobots or the 86 movie characters. Alternators Adapts them into the supercar realistic style, rather than taking on the cartoon style the masterpiece line is hitting.

Granted I'm still more of a fan of Generations than Masterpiece. Perhaps I'm a bit behind the curb. Since all the third parties are rallying to the Masterpiece scale.

Im a huge fan of bots transforming into real life objects, cars, trucks, tanks, jets, etc. The robots in disguise element was the key factor of why these things were so cool back in the day.

I don't like all of this cybertronian and futuristic stuff.

I would like a line of die cast vehicles made after the movie Auotbot's alt modes or model kits to build those cars. Seeing as how Takara made model kits to assemble Optimus and Bee in robot mode, I think it's possible to see kits to assemble Autobot's car modes

I dont think they would be competing with each other, if you look at the types of cars Alternity and Alternators were releasing, none of them are 80's supercars. I think Alternity did a better job of making robot modes and having nicer, quality car modes, but Alternators was better ant using more characters and developing the line. It'd be really awesome to see an Alternity 2.0 in my opinion since it would fix a lot of what you said.

I totally agree, I'm getting pretty sick of seeing some ridiculous blobs as vehicle modes, especially when the Bot mode still suffers from something.

I think models are a whole other thing, they really didn't take the DMK line as far as they could have and I wish they did. Plus its hard to find any models of some of the movie figures (in accurate paint jobs) so yeah, I get that. Plus its be nice to have them to scale.

If they could keep them bigger like Alts or HA I would be interested. I keep looking at my Alt collection, and a few of them are great in car and bot mode, but many don't hold up well as cool robots. I'm not sure what to do with them.

As far as HA figs, I would like to see the "gun seat on arm/back" thing go away. Maybe if they rode inside the TF like a mech pilot, I'm all for hidden guns popping out on an HA, but putting the human out there is lame as mentioned on here already.

I always imagined Masterpiece transformers slowly mimicking it's predecessor and making it work better. Alternators were a dream come true. licensed, scaled and detailed. Then my wish came true and we got drivers to go with the cars with Human Alliance. Then the MP line chose to shrink instead.

If only Hasbro/Takara would make an MP line on the side, where it combines everything I love about these lines.
