My Q is in the title, I always see the Rubsign Primes with the sticker located on the top of the cab. I have one that is original vintage, not customized or altered from 85-86 from the USA. How common is this?

    Thanks!

    Better check the guide:
    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...2-g1-reissue-ko-optimus-prime-comparison.html

A KO can come with a rubsign that must be applied. In addition, you can get 3rd party rubsigns and put one on a 1984 G1 Prime. Other possibility is that the rubsign was removed from a 1985 Prime and relocated to another location.

But let's say it was a factory error. Rubsign misplacement HAS been known to occur. A famous example is the misplaced rubsign on this Dirge:

However if it is a factory error (impossible to prove if loose) it does not add any additional value to the product.

The adhesive on rubsigns was pretty sensitive to heat, it could have been moved by someone who didn't want it in its original location.

Thanks, I was thinking it was a random error, just wasn't sure if it was a common one for an 85ish release prime.

This came from 30 years in garage storage from my childhood, so it's real and unmodified. Funny thing is the rubsign doesn't even work, but every other rubsign from the garage does!
