Thought this might be useful since I've seen a few questions around. Generally only covering animated series, and adding characters as it becomes clear there will be Masterpiece figures in that series.

Definitely subscribing to this, this is exactly the thread we need. I love that you included absolutely everything, makes it really easy to get a complete collection using this as a checklist.

Only things are: Sixshot should be orange to correspond with your color code. And, there's also a Nemesis Prime they did based on the MP-1 mold that's now out of scale. Optimus Prime's section is also missing his second Hasbro MP-1 release (the battle damaged version), and since I noticed you did it with the Seekers, I-Gear's Faith Leader series is not included in OP's section. They also did that YotH repaint of MP-10, which I noticed wasn't included. Man, OP's listing is huuuge.

Also, Scoria comes with an upgrade for Grimlock that makes him in-scale, which is awesome.

Last thing: Shouldn't MP-12G be in a separate section since it's for Generation 2, technically? I'd also throw Tigertrack in his own listing (not just under Sunstreaker) since they did make him.

Otherwise, great list, this obviously took a lot of time to put together.

I think Scale on Sixshot is also difficult, MMC's Hex is so damn tall he works with Classics and MP's (Stand him next to Soundwave and put Buzzsaw on his arm.....not so out of place after all) so mileage will definitely vary.

MMC's Feral's/Preds have the size, mass and quality to be MP stand ins. They just are.

Gears: That Continuously Variable monstrosity is a better size for an MP than Cogz but......it's quality is pretty poor and not up to MP level.

 

Whew, made all those updates! I think mentally I ignored Faith Leader because it came out when I had a bigger Prime and didn't want anything else   For now I'm keeping MP12-G in place, as it's more the exception than the rule. If more G2 makes it out, I'll consider splitting it out.

Done! Was aware of the Impossible Toys set, but wondered about the scale. Included them anyway in case people wanted an option.

They did! It's now in the Decepticons list, in the leader section.

I'll put it in the list, and note that quality is known not to be great. The whole idea is to give people options! However if there's a definitive piece that blows the competition away (e.g. Quake wave), then other options will be duly obliterated.

I don't recall seeing Wing Thing in the G1 animated series, but if TT/Hasbro makes one I'll include it. I'm a bit cautious about Dr Wu's DW-P13 The Dr of Evil as it's huge compared to the Partners.

Fans Toys have shown a mock-up of a possible Blaster that could be made. And KFC have hinted at making Eject and Rewind. Try adding them to the list?

Also, SXS has made a Jetpack for MP-10 (in both Hasbro or TakaraTomy colors).

 

^ A roller upgrade kit is included as well in the corresponding colors w/ the Jetpack.

 

I disagree with the putting the blaster for FT, this is not confirmed at all, but could happen one day. If anything, it would be putting the other two dinobots for FT, as they are planning to do those, but there are no pics of designs shown, so we should wait maybe.

I'm wary of adding just concepts or promises from third parties at this stage. I think at least a confirmation that the figure will be produced should be required.

For example, FansToys has confirmed its interest in completing the whole Dinobots set (including a potential remake of Grimlock if TT doesn't get there first), but these don't have confirmed model numbers or pre-orders yet.

 

Is there some kind of expectation that every single toy from G1 will be made into a Masterpiece? REALLY? Sorry, but I find that pretty laughable.

Despite having said that, I always really dig resource types of threads. I think you've done some good work here. I think something like this would work much better for "Classics-Generations" toys, though.

 

Nah, no expectation at all from me. I'm really quite happy and grateful for what we have already. If they manage to finish the S1 crew, I'll be over the moon and will likely stop my buying there.

But I figure third party will get increasingly esoteric over time as they run out of characters, some people are completionists, and everyone seems to have that one offbeat favourite individual character, so thought it would be useful.

I am only collecting MP, so am not up to speed enough on the Classics-Generations toys to make a list. Happy for someone to steal the list and modify where necessary though!

The other Minibots, Cliffjumper I'll just have to wait until we get some word about MP Bumblebee, Huffer I can get Cubex only if the others saying that figures been cancel is false and Windcharger I am so baffled about.
