If I could put forward a suggestion:
Fansproject's Dinoking seem to be perfectly in scale with MP Star Saber in both individual and combined forms

TFC's Liokaiser is in scale to Saber/Star Saber as well, however it could be argued that they're not in scale for their altmodes.

(I'm basing this off the toon and this scale chart, which admittedly may not be fully accurate)

 

I am going against my views on me owning any 3P products, but I personally feel that Maketoys, with more focus on their Re:Master line is a better substitute for the Headmasters and Targetmaster themed MPs. Or, at least, the Hasbro version. With Cupola and (whenever it comes out) Contact Shot being ideal substitutes to Chromedome and Blanker (Point Blank) being great for the fans of the Japanese G1 stuff.
