I've been thinking about this a bit reading some of the posts from people who are so angry that Star Saber is taking an MP slot this year that they have to vent their rage over and over rather than just saying oh, well, and getting on with their lives.

I do understand the people who would really like Takara to finish out the main cast of the first two seasons before getting sidetracked onto other stuff. I really do understand it. If someone is planning to get all MP releases produced and really loves those first two seasons, that makes some sense.

But honestly, for me, every single thing I would consider buying an MP of (other than stuff that's already been produced) comes from after that. I don't care about the Ark crew. I won't buy the Insecticons if they make them. I wouldn't even really be interested in the other Dinobots.

G1 is my era, but I'm not a completest and I do not need MPs of the vast majority of those characters. Meanwhile, I have very little connection to Victory, but I would buy MP Star Saber WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY before I would consider buying ANY as yet unproduced season 1 or 2 character. I would buy many Masterforce characters before considering buying any more season 1 or 2 characters. I would buy ALL season 4/Headmasters characters before any more season 1 or 2 characters.

My top 10 wants (leaving out citybots for scale/price reasons):

1. Chromedome

2. God Ginrai

3. Overlord

4. GoShooter

5. Minerva

6. and 7. Darkwing and Dreadwind (though I'm sure TT would do Buster and Hydra instead)

8. Galvatron

9. Cancer

10. Wilder

It was a challenge holding myself back from adding Pipes, Tailgate, and Outback as well. I didn't want to edit too heavily, plus the list would have kept growing beyond that.  

 

I would buy any of these characters in a heart beat. One character I forgot would be Victory Leo to combine with Star Saber.

 

Jazz

Galvatron
Shockwave (although the G1 figure is actually pretty good).

Anything beyond that will just be icing on the cake for me.

 

Autobots: God Ginrai, Hound, Mirage, Sunstreaker,

Decepticons: Galvatron, Cyclonus, Scourge, Reflector, Shockwave, Overlord

 

Thinking about it, Galvatron, Megatron, and Ironhide/Ratchet are the remaining essentials. If we got those and the line stopped, my collection would look ok. Believe me, I want all the other guys, but they're all icing on the cake to me.

 

My Wants list in no particular order:

all 6 Constructicons
Megatron 2.0 (I'd be willing to settle for G2 styling to avoid the "orange plug of hate")
Hound
Sixshot
Hot Rod 2.0
the other Dinobots (at LEAST scaled to Grimlock otherwise, add foot pads like Scoria did)
Springer
Blitzwing
Astrotrain
Hardhead
Brainstorm

 

Plus Hound. Ohh how i need and official Hound now there are 3party options looking good 

EDIT: and takara Thundercraker asia exclusive opened_boxed for 200$ and then the line could die no problems  

 

Yeah, put me down as someone who wants a healthy sample across the G1 series. Of course the first season guys are legend, but since we've got Roddy, Magnus and with Star Saber on the way, I'd like later characters to fill out separate displays. Man, what I wouldn't do for an MP Sixshot.

 

Yeah, the ocd part of me really needs a TT Thundercracker. If I have to pay $200, so be it.

I love Hound as much as any other carbot and he'd sure bring a lot to the shelf with a great splash of green and non-super car alt, but I don't think he's on the same level of importance character-wise as Optimus, Bumblebee, and Ironhide.

Good call! I think he's got as good a shot at getting the MP treatment as Cyclonus. I'm certain he's got a better chance than Scourge.

though I would buy an official MP, and gladly welcome guys like Star Saber. My biggest wish would be for the to expand its release schedule. Maybe have waves of two figure releases. Or release one minibot, one deluxe, and larger size figure combo every quarter.

Masterpiece Autobot cars. Which would you prefer to be next ?

I'm a Trailbreaker fan so obviously I'd want him first, plus it'd give us the easy retool Hoist. But Mirage and Jazz are so darn cool too. There's also a rumor about Ironhide to be released after Tracks so who knows.

Of all the 1st season G1 toys there are only a few Autobot cars left to be done in the Masterpiece line. Hopefully they'll do them all.

If it were up to you which one would you have Takara Tomy do ?

 

Jazz all the way. Followed up by a Stepper repaint that I'd be all over.

Jazz is one of my favorites all time, but besides Trailbreaker (who would be my second pick) Jazz is the only one on that list that doesn't already have an awesome looking 3P MP in the works, or in the case of Ironhide, a very nice 3P offering that borders on MP scale/quality. For the record Jazz does have a nice United version out there already, but he is definitely ready for the MP treatment.

I would gladly take any of those, but I think the one that would excite me the most is an MP Jazz. The other cool side to that choice is the eventual MP Stepper.

I'm a Trailbreaker man. He's always been my favorite, and as a kid, I couldn't help but break his head clean off. My parents knew how cool I thought he was, so they'd replace him...but three was clearly the limit.

So definitely Trailbreaker. With a slightly stronger neck.
