love these toys! and this thread.

anyone know where to get replacement parts?? we broke some of ours.  

 

it's the "C" ended bar, both ends have a open C shape connector. maybe an inch long. One of the C prongs snapped when my kid twisted a little too much.

 

So far I have made a few different alt modes for Megatron using the extra pieces he comes with. I've made a race car, submarine and two types of flying vehicles.

I measured the ball of the head to be 0.313 inches in diameter.

 

In my attempt to make a better version of Construct Bots Hot Rod:



I combined Ironhide with Bumblebee (like before) and added Wheeljack:



I like Wheeljack's alt mode, but white doesn't fit as well as red for Hot Rod. Hoping to see what the upcoming Smokescreen alt mode does.

I did find that placing a weapon between bee's wings linked the rear wheels together nicely. Great trick for some added stability.

Damn, this thread makes me want to buy figures and sets I don't even want just for parts to do what I want.

This is my Soundwave, BTW:





His alt mode is like one of the Decepticon fighters from DOTM. Since Starscream is already a jet I figured Soundwave could stand to be a bit more abstract to further set them apart should I get him.





I quite like the lines and detail of these parts. Reminds me of UT vehicle modes. Bulky but full of detail and shape.

If you take Starscream's blue arm panels and turn them upside down, you can use the clip on them instead of the actual elbow to give him better arms. Also it closes the gap in the wrist. Withe the wings in the back and the cockpit section raised up it gives him a pretty awesome look.

 

Is anyone interested in trading some parts? I have Bumblebee, Starscream, and Ironhide heads. I'd like to trade for Wheeljack and Blitzwing heads.

 

I haven't bought any, but nice thread? Are there decent parts available to try making an Autobot X/Spike?

 

Oh yeah, easily.

No Prowl head yet. But Smokescreen is coming out in the distant future and he's like Prowl.

Thanks, I actually streamlined the design since, as I elected to give the silver jet thrusters to Starscream so he had more "oomf." Plus it lets Soundwave actually use his cool little blue guns.





These pics were taken before I discovered that clipping Starscream's cockpit section into the bar between the neck mount and where it's supposed to go creates a much cleaner top of the jet.

 

I want the Wheeljack head. It is absolutely phenomenal!! I would love to build a custom utilizing it!!
