Good to know. I have not had that issue on mine thankfully

 

The only minor issue I have with mine is that his one finger pops off just like it did with MP Prime.

 

As cool looking this set looks, does anyone here regret buying this set at all because of the qc issues?
Also how does Soundwave and company look with the classics collection, is he way too big to go with them?

 

The camera on my Laserbeak is crooked and doesn't pop out perfectly...

 

I'm bummed about the missing Piledriver piece but I can live if Hasbro drops the ball on replacing it (which I suspect will be the case)

 

He is Masterpiece sized, they don't scale with Classics. If you want a Classics version of Soundwave, I suggest picking-up the music label version 

 

As far as regret, I paid Takara retail for my Soundwave and I'm 100% satisfied!

You guys lucked out! 120 bucks for EVERYTHING! Yikes! Must be nice lol

All cassettes were perfect.

Soundwave overall - (exception paint job) - great condition.

Paint job on Soundwave - rewind button has a tiny bit of chrome paint , most of the button is unpainted. The play/stop/ record buttons are all scratched. Fast forward is the only button fully painted. There is a small splatter of paint on his faceplate.

 

I have the Takara version but I do have a problem with mine. I can't open the Soundwave's cassette door after I push the button on the back causing all the tapes to move toward the front.

 

Both of my Frenzy and Rumble tapes have an odd issue with the legs. Specifically both of their left legs a bit longer than their right legs. It's right where the leg attaches to the hip. The post that the ball joint is on is visibly longer than the other leg. It's not a deal killer, but it bugs me.

Also, a few of the paint apps on my Buzzsaw look like a bad customizer got ahold of it and just started throwing yellow paint around.

Anyone else have the Frenzy / Rumble leg issue?

 

Mine is missing the movable digit on his pointer finger on his left hand. Anyone willing to spare theirs? Maybe you are going to display in boom box only?

 

Checked out the comparison shots courtesy of Fata (thanks for posting). The V-shaped piece on his forehead looks a lot brighter on the Takara one, stands out a lot more.

Still like the Red visor better (just my opinion) and the extra silver paint on the insides of his feet on the Takara one.

 

I can attest to Frenzy's leg disorder and raise you one: my Frenzy's (blue) left leg popped off completely. The ball joint pops out easily and does not sit fully into the socket like the right one does. No amount of force will allow it to fully seat within, so it's definitely a poorly made socket. I can still pose him, but bending his leg forward too far will pop it out. Sucks. I haven't looked closely at Rumble's (red) legs, so I can't say that he has the same length issue, but both his legs are solidly held in place unlike Frenzy's.
