I agree with you wholeheartedly - But be careful, last time I tried convincing someone that their opinion wasn't a fact on a TF board, I got permabanned for apparently trying to assert that my own opinion was fact. But that was on Seibertron. They hated me from the beginning anyway. TFW has been very awesome about being unbiased so far though. My opinion - Partsforming is good for display pieces, but usually not for toys that are meant to be played with. I think MP combiners and any scramble city gimmick should have partsforming, but anything else could get away perfectly without. But I do love FoC Bruticus for what it's trying to do. It's just a fun toy IMO.
They care just enough to put them out, but are still going to to put them out at a price, and with the sort of play value action features that a non-collector might look at them and go "Hey I don't know them but they look cool, and cost just as much as other guys so why not." To put it simply they care enough to name drop, but not enough to go all out in high cost engineering they way say, Soul of Chogokin line does for collectors. A)Yes it is opinion. B) Being more popular (if it is) doesn't make it any less an opinion I'd also say from what I've seen scramble city is the most popular form of combining among a lot of older fans because it was so common in G1 it's come to be seen as how combining should be done, and just enjoying swapping limbs around. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop thinking it's a junk approach.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this or if it counts, but I think we will be getting a Prime deluxe size abominus combiner in the predicons rising line that will follow the beast hunters line. that's my guess
as far as the Prime line goes? I think we're only getting the cyberverse Abominus. perhaps sometime much later on down the line we'll get Deluxe Terrorcons, but as part of Generations. but I suspect that will depend on three factors one being how well Bruticus and his redecos sell, 2 how well cyberverse abominus sells, and three, how well Kreo Abominus sells
as would I, and I'd love to see what kinda crazy Autobot redeco we'd get out of Abominus, kinda similar to the way we're getting Wreckers made out of the FOC Combaticons
Not if it is anything as atrocious looking as the Cyberverse version. Hasbro did me wrong with Cyb. Abominus .... wounded really deep.
Same here, especially if it looked as beastly as the Cyberverse version. ...Now I'm really hoping for one. Dx
Maybe Hasbro or Takara can whip out a decent looking Predaking before third parties are finished with theirs.
doubt it, Hasbro's development cycle is roughly two years. the 3p groups can crank out there stuff so much faster because they don't have to actually create fiction or market their stuff. nor do they have redesign something to get it under budget, or even safety test anything.
What you mean you don't want three hundred takes on Devastator? Wait I get what your saying. You want more 84-86 guys! Third parties will get right on that!
I think I got a good idea for a repaint of a hypothetical Computron/Technobot set... Scattershot's basically a flying space cannon. Sound like anyone? He's got a vehicle mode plus that extra cannon mode. If a new Scattershot retained that mode... Plus there was a Cyclonus repainted into Strafe, so reverse that too... Scattershot repainted/remolded as Galvatron Strafe repainted/remolded as Cyclonus Lightspeed repainted/remolded as Full Tilt (Trypticon's litte car dude) Nosecone repainted/remolded as Brunt (Trypticon's tank dude) Afterburner repainted/remolded as Fast Track (Scorponok's little buddy) And it'd actually have a very consistent color scheme of Purple and Gray with orange highlights.
