He was more of an accessory (or drone) than a villain. He was on par with Ravage's barf balls baby. Just something to be there, not a villain.

I don't think you can compare standalone figures like Predaking and playsets like Metroplex or Trypticon. You buy Predaking because it's Predaking, but you buy Metroplex because it's Metroplex AND because it can interact with other (Cyberverse) figures. More play value.

I have a feeling that Metroplex will sell poorly and will be clearanced down multiple times. So I doubt we will see a titan class Trypticon.

I always felt like Metroplex was such a boring character. I grew up in the 90's so I had the hindsight of seeing Fort Max tower over Metroplex, who was supposed to be the size of a city for the Autobots. I think this updated version is awesome, and his character in the game more than makes up for whatever perspective I held in the past. I have to agree with others though, money is tight these days, and I highly doubt he'll sell very well.

Ultimate Predaking is still a large villain toy and the character has received a lot of hype. If the toy sells poorly, Hasbro will continue believing that large villain toys don't sell so would see something as big as Trypticon as too big a risk.

If a hypothetical Titan Class Trypticon were anything like Metroplex, I'm sold!

As for price, given that this Metroplex is actually larger than a Supreme Class figure, I'm more than happy to shell out $100ish for it.

But it doesn't interact with anything, unlike Metroplex. You're oversimplifying the equation.

Large standalone villain = / = Large villain that interacts with other figures kids might also want/already have

I just don't think Hasbro would be willing to risk it.

I don't think Hasbro would risk selling an outdated tape player from the 80s for $100 in 2013. ;)

    Ebay:
I havent seen any at retail yet and we have to see how if sells once it shows up. There will be a inevitable japaneese metrotitan repaint which i will buy just to have a enemy his size. I predict it will be around 180-200 usd. If metrolex sells really well i will say we might have a 25% chance of trypticon and a 75% chance of getting a us release metrotitan repaint. I just dont see them making a trypticon. I am still floored they did a new metroplex at all
