The next masterpiece needs to be Megatron, not Blaster. Far too many autobots in the line right now and decepticons really only have Starscream and Soundwave (not counting various 3rd party items and the original seeker molds). The Leader of the Decepticons is long over-due.

 

Shockwave should be done before Megatron. Megatron already has a Masterpiece toy.

 

Blaster would be way down the line I think. At present, with the path they are on, I think we are going to see a continous wave of Autobot cars from Seasons 1 & 2 interpersed with leader or leaderesque' characters...just my opinion

You have the Movie Masterpieces (which I wouldn't call Masterpieces)
MPM-1 Starscream
MPM-2 Bumblebee

Then you have completely different lines like...
Which I happened upon a while back so don't know anything about the line.

I don't see them having any trouble making other masterpieces but they will be in separate lines.. You wouldn't expect g1 Reissue Devastator to be released under the Beast Hunters banner now would you? What we are seeing right now is a (G1)Masterpiece Transformers line.

I would imagine other lines could be MPBW (beast wars) MPA (animated or... armada!?) But MP will likely stay G1 as it is where it started... that is unless they do a subline MP-D Diaclone?

Afterthought... The Main masterpieces would have to be re-engineered for Diaclone drivers for a MP-D... hey new repaint/remold opportunity!  

 

I'd probably be okay with Blaster being the next MP. It'd basically knock out the whole tape player/cassettes gimmick.

 

Since there is Soundwave,i definitely pray hard for Blaster to be the next MP

 

Other than the fact that they both have the tape gimmick, I've never felt Blaster was some kind of anti-Soundwave or in any way his nemesis. Soundwave is clearly a tier-1 character, and Blaster is not his equal in that respect. You don't need Blaster to enjoy Soundwave.

 

Would love an MP Blaster sometime in the future but what we really need right now is a Megs V2...the decepticon ranks among us DEMAND IT!!! lol

 

Yes, please! The MP Autobot cars have been underwhelming so far, so I'm up for something different. More Decepticons would be nice, considering that the number of MP Autobots is starting to outweigh Decepticons significantly.

 

I Havent read this whole thread but do folks remember the third party soundwave and blaster that we saw images of a few months back? if you go with the theory that hastak is trying to directly target third party companies, and you see Soundwave as an example of that, then an official mp Blaster may make sense.

 

I'm not sure I buy it. Soundwave is really the only example of that, and releasing an iconic character like him simply makes sense no matter what third parties are doing.

 

There have been several examples of hastak releasing stuff that directly competes with third parties:

YOTS Omega Supreme, as the 3p project genesis comes out
Encore Devastator as hercules and giant came out
Reissue Six Shot as Hexatron comes out

MP Sunstorm could also be seen as a dig at 3p's as well, since we have had 3p releases of seekers other than the original three. I dont know if this is intentional by hastak, but there is enough to make you wonder. We had a good discussion about this on another thread a few weeks ago, not sure if i can find it though.

 

Give them time. They'll be doing other characters from other shows than the season one - three of the original cartoon.

They are just getting separate Masterpiece lines, the G1 seems to be the bread and butter of them though.

I, like many others, am praying the next mp is galvatron, ultra magnus, or megatron 2.0!
I don't really care for blaster and I think he'd make a boring masterpiece. I'd be much more interested in his cassettes than him.

With all the bitching and screaming it took to get Soundwave, who lacks a popular repaint, I'm not very confident well see blaster. Not when there are four more versions of mp10/11 to release.
Does blaster even have a character to repaint into?
