I'm sure it's been asked 100 times already but how do you display your MISB stuff. I have a large collection room that could easily fit 3000+ loose figures but all of my room seems to be taken up by boxes. How to you showcase these things sparingly?

I like the way it looks now. I like the concept that when someone goes into that room of your house It would feel like they are walking into a comic/toy shop. It's different.

Yeah thanks I look at it now and your right about the store feel. I want to try to incorporate my G1 stuff though into that room. I might move two glass cabinets to the center of the room and see how that looks but that doesn't solve my box problem though lol

I've had the thought many times that it would be cool to have a display like stores have. By that I mean the deluxes would hang 5, 6, 7 deep on multiple, long pegs and the Voyager+ figures on shelves.

That way, you'd save a lot of space on the Deluxes, and maybe rotate them here and there so a different one was in the front.

EDIT: But hey, the way you have yours is damn cool already! Like leo said - I like that comic store feel.

I Open mine since they are the newer, but I keep the cards and boxes for when the day comes to downsize the collection. second tip rotate your collection out every 6 months or so. Helps me with my space and interest.

For my sealed items, I rotate my display. I may open some but only if they are boxed (not carded) and not overly valuable and can be easily re-inserted into the packaging and can still be displayed as boxed.

Another vote for leave it as is. They lose too much value if taken out of the boxes. Great collection! :thumbs2:

    MOC/MISB collecting

Hey man, Just a suggestion. Keep all things SEALED. If you need to re sale then you have WAY BETTER chance of moving it. Loose items drop VALUE QUICK. Can you imagine if I had kept all my G1, Vintage Star Wars, Vintage Joes? Those command BIG BUCKS. So if you want value KEEP SEALED. If you want to display and play then open. Bottom line do what you like.

These men know what's up :)

Also, I really like how you've got it set up, so whatever works.

Sealed 80s stuff is valuable because fewer people kept it sealed... "modern" sealed tfs won't become super $$$ because there are enough collectors around keeping sealed things.

Anyway, if it's not g1 or g2 (give or take) then open it and throw the packaging in the bin.

    Open it and be done.

Or you seem to have a rather large mish mash of this and that in there, hard to be cohesive in terms of display while limited on room.

Sell off the things u don't care for as much and concentrate on the rest.

Do the box it up thing and wait a few months if u don't miss it start selling.

Concentrate on the things u like the most and let others have the rest.

I stick to G1, MP and some classic homages(dont care about a lot of them). Makes it easier and you spend money on stuff you actually want.

What I do is display MISB stuff on my wall shelfs and open figures on stand alone shelves, but if i realike a figure I buy two, one to open and one to keep MISB. Most of my MISB stuff takes up a ton of space and I store them in bins in my basment. I keep my open card backs in a binders with the directions. Hope this helps.

leave 1 from each size class in package that way you have all the diffrent packageing.
