I dunno about those throwing out numbers in the 10,000 range. The only way you can do that is by going hardcore vintage and a lot of it or buying a lot of multiples.

Myself, even with a boom in collector prices (expensive) stuff between Takara and 3P, I can only see myself hitting the 3G mark tops.

So I call troll or extreme collector on those high numbers.

 

I agree. I don't exactly "hold myself back" when it comes to buying these things and I hover in the $3-4k range a year. That said, you never know what everyone here does for a living, but that's still quite a bit to drop a year

So far, nothing. My friend down in North Carolina is buying me the FOC Combaticons, and in exchange I'm giving her about 5-6 figures from my collection she really wants. So I haven't spent a dime yet  

But aside from FOC Soundwave, I dont see anything else I really, really want. I might get the Predacons from the Beast Hunters line, but the three that have been revealed so far are still a big "maybe". And I don't buy 3rd Party stuff mostly because I can't afford it. Maybe eventually I can hoard enough money to buy myself an AM Breakdown.

I'm going to try and keep my spending to $100-$200 a month. I haven't seen too many mainline releases that interest me and I'm usually too cheap to pay 3rd party prices. I've set a goal for G1 purchases and I plan to stick to those figures only.

 

I sold off 80% of my collection a couple months ago. Bought almost nothing last year besides US MP-10 and MP-12. Plan to buy almost nothing this year but third party (funded by selling off my collection). Will buy a Takara version of US MP TC if it's in G1 toy colors, but can't really think of anything else I want "official". Oh, and FoC Grimlock.

(I like dragons, but the Beast Hunters line is mostly "stand them up and flip back the head" so far---and for being a Voyager, Predaking should be so much more complex than he is--plus his gimmick-weapons seem to be hampering both modes)

Does it count if I paid for the preorder last year, but the toys are to be released this year? If not, I'm yet to spend a cent on a Transformer toy this year.

 

I think the intent of the thread is to track how much you spend in 2013... So if you paid for the preorder last year, it's not 2013... Otherwise pile of loots all over would count.

 

FoC Grimlock, Dlx BH Ripclaw, maybe a form of Predaking, TFC iron army core robot, Chaos/Paladin, jungle type Mobaine missile launcher...that's about it that I know I want this year.

EDIT: forgot to add the third party FE bulkhead upgrade kit.

I'm already $380 into it, as a college student living off the GI Bill and savings... that's not good.
