I have to agree. When I got Lambor I thought it was pretty cool. I think the colour influenced me. In my review of it I said the biggest danger was it becoming a "rag doll" when the friction joints wear out. Well my Red Alert came as a rag doll. New out of the box all the joints are loose and the paint is a step backwards from Lambor, now with even chips out of it. With the white paint it seems somehow cheap. Still much better than any Red Alert before, just not as good value.

 

Ah, I'm not trying to copy what people are doing here with a cheap/small camera. Just picking a few phrases and motivating myself   ....I haven't bought anything new so it's a good time to try.

You remind me, I have to track down half the Hovercraft!


So I tried using a tripod and fiddled with some numbers in manual setting. I gotta say, it's so much easier to take photos with less light.
This one looks yucky but I only used one light out of 4 I usually have. I got quite excited

which half do you need syd? i'm going to refrain from taking pics until i get a new cam (whenever that is) and stick to commenting

What do u guys use to do the background without seeing part of your house

 

Any kind of back drop works. A sheet, poster board, cloth from a light box, a sheet of vinyl. Look at the links in the first post to get an idea, specifically this one- Light Box / Light Tent Photo Gallery by Bill Huber at pbase.com

Getting a new toy is a great motivation though. I do have Airachnid still sealed, but told myself not to open it until I clean up some space.

What Oro said. That's exactly why I built my first lightbox years back. Before that, wherever I took pics of my TFs there was a kid's sock in the background. Always.
