Looks like Amazon is not offering refund for cases like what happened with SS Grimlock. In the past, they refunded the difference if the price decreased even after having received the article. There was a time window for the refund.

Right now even if the item is in the process of shipping, they don't refund anything.

Well, thanks Primus for the price protection plan of the credit card. :D

No doubt Amazon is not what they used to be.

Order says Amazon.com Services, Inc. so I guess it was Amazon.

Why for $10 is my question. I mean the toy is no masterpiece, but I don’t think it’s THAT bad to the point where it’s discounted to $9.47. If I didn’t already pick up the figure months ago at TRU I definitely would’ve picked this guy up for that amount.

I have it in my wish list and saw it for $42 earlier. When I went to purchase, it wasn't available. I've been checking every now and then and just snagged one that became available. Maybe someone cancelled an order?

Yeah I just saw that. It won’t be in stock until April 9th. Oh well, at least I’ll be getting Grimlock in the mail by Friday.

Because most of them physically cannot transform. It’s a defective product.

Hmm- how long has he been available on amazon? Wondering if it’s a return someone is trying to pass off as new

This is the first I've heard of them actually not transforming, I've only heard of a later run having an improved locking mechanism.

That’s weird, because mine transforms perfectly fine, and I have the first version.

I had a version 1 without the fix and, while not the easiest transformation to get everything lined up right and fairly flush, it did transform. The main reason I upgraded to a fixed version is that the wingpack easily knocked out of alignment when fiddling with the figure, and I foresaw the potential of it possibly getting looser as time went on.

Same here. I didn’t even know there was an issue with the transformation sequence until Dirge121 brought it up.

It’s in the feedback thread, they forgot to cut the slits in the backpack so it can actually compress properly. Someone asked Hasbro customer service and was allegedly told the fix would only be on the Takara model

I have a hard time believing Hasbro would admit Takara exists outside of talking to fans at a convention. Especially a low level customer service agent that reads from scripts.

They're not going to tell a single person they have a flawed product and the only way to get it is to import from Japan. Especially since I imagine the vast majority of people customer service interacts with are parents, not basement dwelling collectors.

Dude probably got a QC failure and made up a story.

I usually buy 2 of everything. Have no issue in any of my 2 units.

This - sounds like someone just made this up to propagate the Takara > Hasbro way of thinking.
