Snap. I loved Red as a kid and it's a seriously big pull but I'm on a self imposed s2 ban. Pics please!!
Nowadays fans expect every repaint character to be a remold at the very least, a completely different mold if at all possible. People still suggest that for the Seekers, and they are the most infamous repaints of all time, I can't see this as any differrent. I'm kind of hoping for a US release befoer I even consider it. I'd also love for the obscure repaints of this mold.
But the MP line has always been true to G1....therefore Red Alert was always gonna be a repaint. I dunno why but I can see an eHobby MP Tiger Track. I reckon he'd sell quite well too.
I'm still on holiday in Tokyo, so won't be reviewing it soon. In the meantime here's an in-box shot. As far as I can tell from this visual inspection, the paint application is not flawless but much better than my MP-11 Lambor/Sideswipe. The white paint is applied evenly and I don't see any paint pooling that some folks reported with their MP-11.
Awesome.....pure awesome. Possibly the only TF I'd leave in alt mode......white Countach fire car FTW!
Can't wait for Red Alert, he'll be my very first Japanese Masterpiece figure. Plus the chances of him reaching the states is pretty low in my opinion, so even more reason to snag him now
If he shows up as a Hasbro release for $40-50, I'll probably get him. I payed for Sideswipe, but was never that big a fan of Red Alert.
The obligatory comparison shots: ...and the obligatory close-up. Paint issues on mine are no better or worse than Sideswipe's... and the face is (thankfully) much improved.
Oh my God. He looks sooooo good with Inferno. I can't fucking wait to take some pictures with this guy!
I would've kept my Inferno if it actually looked like that. The retail one is pretty weak. Also, lol at how much better Red looks than classics. People were selling Henkel version for around the price of Masterpiece. They can piss off now.
