FoC line. Too damn small and not enough heft to the toys themselves. Even Shockwave, the best of the line, has been overlooked several times because I just keep thinking to myself "He's too puny..." As bad as Airachnid is, I will say at least I can pose her decently to compensate.
Masterpiece prime 2.0 and sideswipe, definately the worst money/value wise ow and anything smaller then a deluxe figure.
Seriously? Those have got to be some of the best TFs in years, and MP Prime was a bargain compared to the Takara version.
FoC/PRID = Crap Considering this is an opinion thread, this dude is entitled to his own thoughts on the toys and doesn't have to share your view. Don't like it? Tough shit.
I usually end up pretty happy but FoC Jazz is just pure bland to me. I want him to be complete but damn if he wasn't a core character he would be an easy pass.
FOC Bruticus, the separate toys have a wide range of problems themselves and when combined form a giant PCC feeling toy. there is no bulk to them. and when i hear people criticize the Prid toys for feeling cheap, FOC jazz feels way worse and FOC shockwave only feels decent.
They obviously stated that the product wasn't worth the money they paid for it/what it goes for based on experience/observations. Must be all those years of abuse, but not sure why'd anyone would wanna touch someone gross as sin
PRiD Cliffjumper. Hated him out of the package. Sure, he looks more accurate, but those arms... those Goddamn arms. They make me sick.
Although I can see and understand what everyone is saying about Airachnid, I kinda like the figure. Could be miles better, yes, but she's happy enough on my shelf. As for my pick, it's not a 2012 figure as far as I know, but I bought it in 2012 and it was such a disappointment that I want to mention it. So skip my block of complain below if you're not interested. I'm going to put forwards DotM HA Basic Drag Strip and Master Disaster. I didn't even know the figure existed when I saw it in a shop so I had no idea of what kind of reviews it had gotten. As I wasn't likely to come back to this particular town anytime soon I decided to buy it rather than not and then find out later it's awesome or something. The HA Basics have been generally all great so surely this one will be too..? Once opened though things go downhill fast. One side of the chest won't clip in straight. The arm articulation is crap and when I move an arm the entire shoulder assembly moves and pulls the chest out of place. The yellowy plastic looks and feels like KO plastic, and on the very first transformation one of the tabs that hold the lower legs together in alt mode snaps off. The driver can't be just placed into the car cockpit, he has to be put in during transformation, and even then its a tight squeeze to close everything up around him. But then his legs stick out the bottom of the car a bit so it can't lay flay on its wheels. The clip-on blades are shit. The weapons mode is a lame shield rather than a gun. I find some small saving grace by giving the thing a flight mode by having the purple under-panels out to the sides. Dunno if the designers intended that. I don't think I've been as disappointed in a figure like that in a very long time. So many problems. And yet the other HA Basics were generally all so good. Everyone makes a mistake once in a while.
I've got to say the DOTM line or what was left of it after 2011. That and the fact Soundwave got canceled.
Airachnid - and it's not like she's a terribly bad toy, but in terms of engineering she falls far behind what has been a well-executed line, IMO. The helicopter mode saves it. Generations Jazz - however, he's just a pretty bad toy in general.
I'm fairly certain that the only DotM toys to come out in 2012 were Trilogy Prime with trailer, Jetwing Prime, Year of the Dragon Prime, and the handful of Cyberverse figures that came out in the Prime line (Soundwave, Evac, Mirage).
Most of the Prime line has been pretty disappointing. Same goes for Fall of Cybertron Generations. - PRID Voyagers had no chance, 'cause of that stupid Powerizer gimmick. Optimus, Bulkhead, Megatron and Starscream already had superior FE counterparts. I know Megs and Screamer are deluxes, but I still prefer them to the PRID Voyagers. Ultra Magnus, Dreadwing and Skyquake are the only ones I kinda like, but I don't like them enough to go out and actually buy them. Breakdown would be my top Voyager if Hasbro released him. - Early PRID Deluxes shared the same fate as the Voyagers. FE Bumblebee, Arcee and Cliffjumper are far superior than the new PRID versions. We did get some amazing figures such as Wheeljack, Soundwave and the Vehicons, but Knockout and Airachnid were major disappointments. I kinda like Kup, but I wish he was released as Ironhide. As for the repaints, all are pretty bad aside from Hot Shot. - I still have hope for FOC Generations. We have Grimlock and Blaster on the way. Kickback and the seeker mold look promising and we already have a Skywarp repaint announced. However, Optimus, Jazz and Sideswipe were complete misses. Shockwave is mediocre and Ultra Magnus' deco saves that shitty Optimus mold. I have mixed feelings about Bruticus. I have to commend Hasbro for giving us a combiner team, but the execution was very poor. I'm still planing to get a G2 set. Just because it's freaking Dudicus!!!
*does search within topic for Airachnid* *gets 30 results* haha, figured. Honestly she wasn't as bad as I expected when I got her, but probably because I got her cheap and a few months after the initial hate wave.
PRID Airachnid easily. I had hoped she would be one of those that looks better in person. Wrong! Chopper mode is decent though.
