Transformers that you never thought you'd get... that you got.

So, we all see those certain figures, and we say "Well, I'll never own THAT!".

Maybe because it's rare, maybe because it's expensive, or maybe it's just so awful-looking that you couldn't see yourself buying it, we all say that we just won't own that figure.

Until we do. This is that thread.

For me, I never thought I'd get my hands on a Masterpiece Grimlock. They're always SOOO expensive, and I could never really justify to myself buying it. But, luckily for me, I found one at an entirely reasonable price here on the boards, and I'm now the proud owner of an MP Grimlock. And I couldn't be happier.

On the other end of the spectrum, Supreme Cheetor was one of those figures I could never see myself owning. "It's too big", I said. "I hate Beast Machines figures", I said. "It's a piece of crap", I said.

Until I realized just how many Cheetor figures I owned, and set out to get more of them. And so, I came into a Supreme Cheetor. And honestly? I... I like him. I have no idea how this black magic witchcraft was achieved, but somehow I like this dude. I can't really explain WHAT about him I like, just that he's kind of endearing to me, I guess.

prime commander ironhide. well, any of the prime commanders period, but ironhide especially. my area never got past wave 1 of them until a few weeks ago, but it was just magnus, starscream, battle tactics bulkhead, skyquake and one each of optimus/megatron. no ironhide or dreadwing ever showed up until tonight, when i went to target and bam, arrrnhahd was right there. bought him on sight.

I hate Armada figures, yet I own some. I think they migrated through the door somehow.

Otherwise, I could never personally justify the typical price for a nearly perfect G1 Shockwave, but when I found one at a show for $50 I couldn't pass it up.

i honestly hated the prime line despite loving the show. they seemed like such a downgrade in size and detail from prior lines that i couldnt be bothered to care. until i bought arcee as a classics chromia. a few weeks later and im hunting for Dreadwing and paying top dollar for first edition bumblebee...

my ehobby reissue of Black G1 Megatron for a long time i never thought id own a G1 megs but it happened, not exactly spot on G1 but close enough for me.
