I'd buy one if a 3rd party company could make a better head for him. I'd buy 2 Black Zaraks if they made him also..
headrobots did one for cerebros they gave him 2 heads and a sword if they would do one for g1 scorponok it could fill his helmet better and actually look like g1 accurate. im wondering what people are gonna come up with for fort max, shapeways,kit,crazy devy wise.
So apparently, I heard from a fairly reliable source, that we are getting a reissue of Scorponok and Trypicon. This annoys me because I recently bought both of them in pretty mint condition, but oh well, what ya gonna do? We are also getting an ehobby grand max, no word on black zarak. Take this all as rumor since I have no way to prove any of it, but we'll see.
Well I'm working on a Custom Scorp head to be cartoon accurate, I've designed it and uploaded it to shapeways and ordered one, but now gotta pray I haven't messed up and it fits the headmaster socket. It's the first time I've actually made any 3d model in over a decade probably. (it's just a block with a face that plugs in, no transform.)
I wonder if a Metrotitan/Battle Gaia/Greatshot/Guard City is plausible as an Asian market exclusive? Hasbro Asia and Takara have been doing their own thing in terms of releases and if Takara isn't interested in doing those, I'd rather have them out as Asian market exclusives than not have them at all (the recent Sixshot is still easy to acquire, just pricey to do so).
nah IMHO too difficult to repurpose the Sixshot mould into Greatshot. It will be too costly for Hasbro to acquire those remade/ broken degrading moulds for each release. how well will it sell then?
Looks pretty awsome I wish headrobots would do one though because it would be a headmaster with a g1 accurate face sculpt, I own thier cerebros set and it is amazing.
I wasn't thinking Hasbro, even though Hasbro Asia has been rereleasing the Commemorative Series reissues like crazy (I mentioned Hasbro Asia because they've been doing their own thing lately so I suppose they could be on the table but I'm not expecting it from them either). I was thinking Takara releasing Asian market exclusives (like the recent Sixshot) using those G1 molds (plus we don't know whether those molds are "degrading" or not, though the Combaticons at least showed their age during their Encore release), so no remolding's necessarily needed. As for how well it would sell, I doubt it would be gangbusters since they are more obscure characters...but if the question is "How could these get released at all?" I think the Asian market is a possibility for something like these. I suppose Takara could use it as a testing ground as well to see if there's interest in Japan for these, then other obscure reissues (and their redecos) could be reissued in Japan via Encore or at least via eHobby or something of that sort.
