Jericho, my Starscream does the same thing! It's driven me nuts trying to figure out if I can tear it apart to do something about it, but I am fearful of doing something to muck him up... :(

If anyone out there has any ideas...

After an hour of playing around with the thin metal piece from Tracks it snapped on me. I decided to bend it a little more and I wound up exactly where I started. Anyways, I have another problem with another G1 I have. My G1 Inferno cannot complete a transformation to robot mode because the hinge in the waist cannot lock in place. I do not own a camera (except for a crappy cell phone camera) so I cannot provide a pic.

Sorry if this has been covered, but I have a G2 Sideswipe that has some loose arms. No idea how to tighten the shoulder joints on this thing. Any help would be great.

for inferno, does he just kinda flop back? if so, maybe dripping some crazyglue in the pin joint as you move him, but you have to be careful not to stop until it is completely dry

Same here. I actually bought two types of sheet metal from Hobbytown to make new parts, but one type was too soft while the other was too rough and started rusting when I got a little water on it.

So, does anyone know the type of metal used in toys for slider locks, battery prongs, and the like?

I don't have Blaster anymore but a non-working tape deck is an easy fix. Just pop it open and flip the black henge/spring, done deal.

As for me! Can anyone fix G1 Prime's arms :(

any resources for g1 TF repair?

While I know the majority of TF repairs out there (mainly g1) are straightforward I am in need of help on some other projects, namely I am trying to rebuild a g1 jetfire I will have to go the retrobrite route on the main chassis and wings (if someone knows of an alternate method of doing the whitening process let me know)) The main problems are removing the stickers (goo gone?) touching up the chipped leg paint, and re-installing the landing gear (basically I got a bag with rear landing gear parts (need to source a replacement front with switch)) Anyone know if there are pics out there of a jetfire teardown?

I tried to search jetfire repair/disassembly and teardown but with no luck on the forums.

    Mindwipe's infamously broken/stuck hand pegs.

The internal sliders cause the hands to get stuck and the pegs to snap off.
The solution is to open up the arms, then slightly sanding down the black slider.

Test the amount of remaining friction while arm is still open until desired friction level, then reassemble.

I bought my Mindwipe with one peg snapped off. Thanks to this little mod, the remaining peg won't snap.

In addition to that, you can get some styrene rod or tube. Drill a hole in the already broken peg, insert the rod in the hole, paint it black, and voila! new peg!
