Retail Bruticus has just hit the UK, and I picked him up today. I don't actually get all the people saying the individual toys are hollow and cheap-feeling. The only one I'd accuse of being hollow feeling is Swindle, and he still feels more solid than WFC Bee IMO.

The articulation is somewhat odd on the individual bots, but that's mainly because we've been spoiled recently, and extra joints would compromise the combined mode.

I think they're an awesome set. Although, am I doing it wrong, or does Blast-Off in arm mode not offer any elbow articulation?

I'm liking the individual Combaticons a lot more than I thought, and I definitely can't wait to complete the set. As I said in the "hidden features" thread, Onslaught and Vortex (in vehicle mode) make noises that sound like their respective vehicle modes.

Maybe he means when you roll them across the table. At least Onslaught's wheels clacking could sound like a diesel engine. Not sure about Vortex though...

 

Onslaught's wheels rattle and make him sound like a big off-road vehicle, and Vortex's rotors have a "winding" noise that sorta sounds like a helicopter.

Then again, it could just be mine. Especially Vortex.

And I do tend to have a wild imagination.

while it's annoying that i'm mixing and matching arms and legs from 3 versions to get the Bruticus i want, he is pretty sweet and nearly kibbleless.

Exactly what configuration are you using?

 

right now it's:

FoC - Onslaught, Swinde and Brawl
G2 - Vortex (i can't do a red copter, outside of G2) and Blastoff

i have a SDCC set in storage; once i get it out, the Blastoffs are going to get switched, along with Onslaught's "backpack."
