Second Edition First Edition Optimus Prime - Fewer Paint Apps

I got my FE voyagers from BBTS yesterday. They're great, but while Bulkhead seems to be a straight up re-release, Optimus isn't exactly the same.

From what I can tell in online pictures, the bot mode paint is still the same. The colors were a bit darker than I was expecting, but that could just be variance in computer displays.

The alt mode, however...

Can you spot the difference?

I'm pretty sure this isn't just a missing paint app on mine, as it's the same on both sides. It could be an error, but it seems like a big thing for the factory to miss. I haven't seen anybody else complain about this, but they just started shipping from BBTS. Either way, I wanted to warn people about this.

It's not something that bothers me much, as it's invisible in bot mode. However, that's exactly why that might bother people. The packaging looks to be exactly the same, so if you want a Hasbro First Edition First Edition, you should buy from a trusted source.

Apologies if this is not news, but I thought it might be better to warn people.

I got a reply back from BBTS today and all of their SE FE Optimus Primes are like this.

Well, at least I got the first First Edition. This really blows for everyone who didn't though.

Thanks for the warning. I would hope that's just a case of bad quality control and email BBTS about it.

I'm starting to think the same thing. The missing paint apps were all supposed to go on one part. It could've been accidentally skipped over on the line.

Ugh, I wanted to get one of those. Even if it is just an error, a mistake that big does not give me faith in the quality control for these. Oh well, I guess it isn't too bad. I'll probably still get one. It's still the best Voyager Optimus I can get for cheap.
