Wow, there've been some stunning pictures over the past couple of pages! I hate to lower the tone with a silly one of lower quality. :)

That makes me panic about chipped paint - I never used to worry about that as a kid!

My first was Bumblebee, I havn't look back since. Prowls a great figure, and not a bad place to start, TBH any of the car bots are a good bet, they're affordable enough and well engineered, I also have Wheeljack and Sideswipe. If I could put these in order I would go:

    Bumblebee
    Prowl
    Sideswipe
    Wheeljack

    Hope this helps.

I thought the rule was that 3P figures could be included in photographs as long as there were official figures in there too? Has that rule changed? Apologies if I missed it!

What do you people think about changing the rule about official only? It seems that the market has changed a lot since that made sense...it seems that it should "MP-like" only for this thread instead of official only. I know there's a 3P appreciation thread in the 3P forum, but it doesn't seem many folks use that, and it makes more sense to me to have one single thread for awesome photos and discussion. Maybe that's just me though.

I skim passed the non-official stuff, because I want to look at actual Masterpiece figures and not at 'MP-like'.

I don't mind when 3rd party products are displayed or discussed in relation to official products. But I would not like the direction to shift away from official products.

There are a lot of 3rd party products that claim to fall within the Masterpiece range. But in my opinion, only a few live up to the aesthetic of the masterpiece range.
For that reason I prefer there being a definable line between 3rd party and official products.

    That's why I regularly read/view this thread :)

This, and besides, this is the masterpiece aprecitation thread, and as far as trademark laws are concerned, if it aint official, it aint masterpiece.

I have a fair share of 3p products that I love and enjoy, but I always try not to post them here if at all as to not ruin the purity of the thread. I agree it shouldn't be here. Mp "aesthetic" is not mp.

My humble Decepticon crew. They are currently all Hasbro MPs (or CW in the case of Devy), and I am pretty content with this group. All I feel like I really need at this point is Megatron -- forrtunately, the MP accessory gun of Megs is a good stand-in.

Agree with everyone else. 3rd party has '3rd party MP appreciation', 'let's see some cool stuff 3P', and individual toy threads where everyone can post all they want. The Toys section is for Official stuff and the MP Appreciation thread is for Official stuff. Everyone understands that people have and enjoy 3rd party stuff and are pretty cool with it being included in small amounts here, as it's almost inevitable. I think the rule of having to have an official product in the pic is a fair one. Someone didn't do that at all. But also, in my opinion, people have been stretching that rule pretty darn far since more and more 3rd party mp-style products have been put out. When you post 3-5 pics of the newest 3rd party figure by itself and then some last throw-away pic with a semi-random official figure you aren't really abiding by the 'spirit' of the rule either. I've got apollyon and ft stuff and I've had it in a few pics here and there, but I try to be restrained about it. Now this is just my opinion, but if you want to show a new 3rdP fig make 1 group shot pic with official stuff and 1 duo pic with an official mp say you think the fig is cool and move on. Also, if everyone and their mother is posting pics of the latest 3P fig, refrain from adding to it.

The biggest problem I see with allowing 3P in here is all the inevitable negativity and arguments of Official vs. 3P that will just ruin this thread.

Hope that didn't come across too negative or that I'm an official purist (I do like and have 3P stuff). It just seems that this thread can just be what it is already and we can tighten up the reigns a bit on the 3P pics.

    My 2cents

I collect 3P stuff, but I think it's only fair that this thread should be official only. It's not like official MP's can't hold their own in all of the amazing pics we see in here. :)
