This man speaks the truth! [IMG]

The creative side of me is saying that there's tons of sweetness possible with that trailer. The logical side is saying that I'd never get around to doing any of it and the money is better saved towards Ultra Magnus. [IMG]

That Optimus looks gorgeous, but I have one problem with it: I would have absolutely no idea where to put it. I arrange things typically by show / film cast, with the extra guys thrown in among them. That would not do for MPs, where I wanted to be a little more purist about things. So while he's cool, and I'd be interested in getting him, I'm just not sure where I could slot him in my display and it's borderline meltdown conundrum for someone with OCD like me.

I suppose I could make a "show shelf" and "alternate deco / non-show shelf" for MPs, in which case this Optimus, Acid Storm, and so on would occupy that shelf, but beyond that I've no idea. Anybody have suggestions?

I just lump most of my MPs in one display...

I suppose that would be one way to do it too, but I'd worry about my MP display looking somehow "watered down" too because of the repeated use of molds. I'd be looking at three MP-10 molds alone, four if Ultra Magnus is included in the upcoming releases. Couple all the various cars, and it gets a little iffy.

I have a separate section for 'Expanded Universe' stuff - e.g. Sunstorm, Tigertracks etc.

I'm going to set another one up for the black repaints, too.

That's one thing that I'm not a fan with now, as that I have to inspect anything I get now before I do anything. Usually, that's fine, but in instances like this, once it comes in the door, I gotta make sure it's staying here. The last thing I want is to unwrap something and then discover two hands or something.

Black Convoy is the main MP this time around, but Streak managed to arrive as a bit of a surprise from a friend :)  I've not heard too much from Metroplex out of the box, so I've left him sealed up. I'll probably be in the minority here, but Metroplex is going with my MPs. I dare say that it's the closest we'll ever get to one. He's just a tiny bit of a deviation from G1, but there's enough Studio Ox in him to be worthy :)

Is it a 1:1 slavish G1 "Masterpiece"? No, of course not. I do think that it looks "G1" enough and it's not too much of a deviation away from the G1 design.

    Bwhahaha :lol

I will say that I quit frequenting the "Cool Stuff" thread a bit.

Smokscreen will be the next MP I'm going to get.

That is my only gripe with the MP line - that QC can be spotty. I had an MP Frenzy with a giant scratch down its face and an MP Prowl with a huge chip in its hood (which fortunately both got replaced) among other minor issues on other figures, so I couldn't just hand Smokescreen to my wife for wrapping without checking it first, as I'd be hugely grumpy on Christmas Day if I opened it only to find it needed replacing. :)  Fortunately it looked good as far as I could see.

I've been wondering how he'd fit with the MPs given that he's surely going to be the biggest Metroplex we'll get. He's not one I could get away with ordering and hiding away so that the wife didn't notice Yet Another Transformer, though...

Realised I'd never taken a pic of Sunstorm yet, so here's one :)

And here's a group pic with the Season 1/2 Lambors thrown in too :)

You'd be surprised! I snuck metroplex in and got away with it for several months before my wife caught on. Only after my buddy was dropping off a TRU MP Soundwave for me and pointed him out just as she walked in room, "when did you get that guy?" "Oh he's been there a while honey". And she left it at that, thankfully:)  what also helps my cause is she avoids our home office as much as possible, she says it's overwhelming, that it gives her anxiety. Which makes it easier to sneak my recent MPs into the mix and not get 20 questions.

I already mentioned this a few days ago @
    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/968158-what-masterpiece-thingy.html

Its kinda cool actually. I would buy it if I wasn't going to be bidding on petes2177's masterpiece rodimus version 2.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the first notifications of a new Metroplex state he was going to be a Masterpiece? I think the Takara or the SDCC with the better paint apps would fit in fine with MPs. The standard retail version could stand for some repro labels.

Well I give the list along with links to all the sites they are available some are released others are not in that case they just wrap a picture of whatever it is.

Plus I've got movies and games at Amazon that people can buy off of, I think I only update my wish list once a year in November. I understand your situation everyone has got it different I know I just enjoy the surprise of unwrapping something.

Oh no I just can't get past that gold chrome on this guy. :yuck

I understand the list (telling them what you want) but do you have to know what was purchased?

Still waiting on my Smokescreen's one from Captured Prey and the other from Robot Kingdom, both birthday gifts and looks like neither will make it by Christmas.

I remember that too. I've seen plex stood with MP Prowl and it looks pretty good.

Been looking at the new car brothers but right now I can only afford one.

What seems to be the best: Prowl, Smokescreen or Silverstreak?

I'd say Smokescreen is best in hand but Prowl is the most iconic.
