No Transformers for me this year. None I want! Though I'll definitely be picking up Huff and preordering Wheeljack come January.

 

Interesting...looks like it COULD be official, and part of me wonders if it's a leak...but my instincts tell me it's not. Something about it screams K.O. to me, but I'm not sure what.

 

I say K.O. given all other MP listings from this seller are K.O.s.

Come on guys you should know better. If this was official it would have been announced months prior to it release with pre orders up everywhere.

Yeah I do the Christmas organising here too. It's just easier when I'm in control- all the money flows to me, all the wants list go to me, I sort everything out and usually manage to save money doing so, which goes back in a moar presents.

I'm just too good not to do it!


Not to mention, I HATE surprises. Surprises are something you can't prepare for.

 

I love surprises, but it's just that my wife has no idea how to shop for Transformers for me, especially since my TF interests are very niche anyways.

That being said, MP Prowl found his way out early!  

 

Well on that front I might be able to get away with one or two pleasant surprises, if it weren't for the slow trickle release of MPs and my need to open them immediately upon receipt to check the paint. And, tut tut! You'll spoil your appetite  


On a tangent, I could do with advice from all you customising types. I love my MPs, I love messing around with them and admiring them in their detolf, but every time I do I think the same thing- "the hands are letting these down, wouldn't more articulation be nice". So I think I'm not in the market for some nice articulated hands for them, preferably rounded-style to closer match the cartoon. Mainly it's the carbots, but I would like to upgrade them all at some point- the main problem there being getting the colour matched, or at least finding white blanks that can be painted/dyed as appropriate.


I still can't fathom why there isn't a marketed product for this. A nice cheap little upgrade that I'm sure plenty would bite on if it were readily available.
I suppose in the hope of maintaining consistency with the larger MPs and the unlikeliness of finding hands to match, it'd be better to get some squared-style ones for the carbots....though I'd still need white for Prowl!

Ha, this is the same for me. Ordered myself MP Smokescreen, did a quick "QC check", then had to pass it on to the wife for wrapping. Surprises are great, but I like knowing that there is at least one thing I can't wait to open on Christmas Day. Yeah, that's the big kid in me that likes knowing there's a great toy sitting under the tree, but then I am a grown adult collecting Transformers... (I just worry about the day my kids outgrow toys and look at their dad with disdain for still collecting them.)

Anyway, roll on Christmas Day and Smokey! I hope Wheeljack is out for my birthday in March (although I doubt he will be), and I *really* can't wait to see Bumblebee... I'm going to be going as crazy as Lazerwave with Wherljack at that point.

They do a 1/144 variant and a rounded variant. Given the size of the Datsuns' hands, I bet the 1/100 would be okay. Actually, I have some lying around so remind me and I can take a picture comparing them if no one else does. The only problem is that you'd have to hack off the MP hands to make them fit, which isn't something I'd want to do to my beloved MPs, as cool as fully articulated hands would be.  

 

I've been pretty much done with buying TFs for quite some time now, but I do see what is still out there and try to fight myself from being lured back in. I've pretty much narrowed my collection down to stuff I want to keep. I am waiting for a MP Jazz and Generations IDW Jazz though. With all these MP cars coming out, he has to be coming up, right? Anyways, its been almost 10 years since I've bought the guy, but I finally have some long smokestacks on the way for my MP 20th Anniversary Prime.... Looooong overdue.

Beauty is one thing... but it's just not something I am going to pay that much for, it would be one of those impulse buys and not something that fit in my collection.

damn that does look nice, I am really stuck on which version I want more. I like this new version but not too hot on the gold but meh it'll probably grow on me as I tend to like figures with chrome. The price says yes and I can't say no to it, plus I'm sure it'll be a little easier to obtain compared to his previous version.

 

never really thought about it at that depth, I DO like the waist swivel and I use it perty regularly.

you both needs to get this guy!!! this is the first time ive EVER bought a repaint/retool of ANY masterpiece (besides soundwave) and I have all three datsuns and they DO all have fully distinct vibes in hand. the minor differences are just subtle enough to hide the fact that they are all the same toy. I honestly cant tell you which one I like the best because of how frickin cool they are! im so glad ive gotten on the mp train. and magnus, I figured as many non-retail figs as you have; you would've already had smokey!
