The many versions of each figure confuses me sometimes. I thought all of them came with Lazerbeak, one edition coming with all 4 "classic" cassettes and the black "Soundblaster" version coming with Ratbat (I love Ratbat, but not enough to get a second Soundwave for it)...?

MP10 will be my very first purchase. Without him, I see no reason to collect at all. He is the natural cornerstone in my future collection.

The way I currently see it, figures like Optimus Prime (especially), Soundwave (and his cassettes), Starscream, Ultra Magnus and Hot Rod are must haves.

Grimlock, Prowl, Sideswipe, Red Alert and Smokescreen are really like to haves.

Shockwave, Wheeljack, Tracks, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet, (Blue)Streak, Megatron (if the quality is not too inferior?) and the other seekers are nice to haves.

The various re-paints and G2 characters, while good-looking, are basically non-essential to me (and, especially, to my wallet).

About Megatron, is he worth getting? And do you think he'll see a new release with an improved mold like some of the other big characters?

Laserbeak is included with MP-13. And if you mean Buzzsaw, he's in the MP-16 set with Frenzy.

But yes, you get all the Cassettebots with the TRU-one, but it has a toy inspired deco (Yellow eyes and such) so if you want a cartoon accurate Soundwave you'll have to pick up MP-13.

There's also MB-13B with Ratbat if you just want the mold and don’t care if it's Soundwave or Soundblaster. I picked up MP-13B because I could get my hands on a fairly priced MP-13 at the time and I don’t regret it one bit, he looks fantastic.

But if you want Soundwave as a character, you'll have to search for either the TRU-one or MP-13.

 

My 10-year-old son had Star Saber at the top of his Christmas wish. There are no Masterpiece figures in our house, and seeing as this is probably the last year he believes in Santa Claus, I figured why the hell not.

With us spending Christmas out of state, Santa wrote my son a message on the iPad telling him that since what he asked for was too big for him to lug back home, he took a photo of what he left under our Christmas tree:



The reaction on my son's face was priceless.

 

Skip MP05. He isn't very good and I'm sure TT will do him again eventually at the new scale. If you really want Megatron there are third party options if you aren't dead set against non official stuff.

Regards customs does Denmark have a gift limit? UK has it at around £15 which NY & AE always seem to circumvent by declaring low values. Hlj don't so are prone to customs bumming.

Well I was really hoping Takara was gonna release MP Ironhide as a Christmas Surprise yesterday but apparently not,but hopefully it won't be the last week of January like most MP's,I am so ready to add Ironhide to my collection.

Oh and as for MP Prowl and Smokescreen everybody is talking about I wanna say Prowl looks pretty good for the most part,but as for Smokescreen I just think that figure looks like Ass,the color scheme is just horrendous,and that head of his reminds me of something you would buy in a sex shop.

I hate to use those terms but that's how I feel,and I am not trying to dissuade anyone from buying him if they want him I myself will never add that figure to my MP collection,so I guess I am different from other people.Later all.

 

Aren't opinions funny. Smokescreen is my favourite Datsun, especially with full real world racing livery.

Anyways, is there a tip how to fix his mirrors? They stick too much out of the door. They seem moulded to sit flush with the doors, but I guess the tab is too long. But Id like to see a success story before I try messing with it.

 

There's some great stuff going on in this thread. Too many names to name but you guys are all doing a great job.

 

You just need to apply some additional pressure to the mirrors. It's best to do it mid transformation with the doors swung out.

 

At least for the moment, I'll stick to official releases. So yeah, I'll hold out for a new Megatron.

Our limit is actually a bit above twice that amount. Forgive me for asking though, but what is "NY & AE"? A shop, I presume?

I can't wait until MP combiner/gestalt teams in MP scale, quality, and G1 toon accuracy enter the picture, official or 3rd party. I guess we have the Warbatron series Bruticus and Computron for now. Isn't MMC Ocular Max doing the Protectobots?
