I've searched to see if any other threads like this existed but to no avail so I have decided to start one up.

Now regardless of what your opinions are on the movies, they did bring in a massive influx of new fans, many of which such as myself have branched off into other areas of the franchise, even going back and watching the G1 cartoon to see where it begin. That's the kind of person I am, if I become interested in a certain property I often times am curious about its origins and will try to research further into it.

Onto the figures themselves. From the first figures that were revealed for the 2007 movie it became obvious that these figures differed a ton from its predecessors. For one it was a return to earth vehicles, the transformations were more complex than anything before it (RID brothers being exceptions) , and the molded detail on them was really impressive. Some folks have criticized the movie figures for being so fiddly and resembling an aesthetic that was heavily removed from the traditional look. However for me I find enjoyment in them and ever since I started customizing my so called passion for them has jumped immensely.

So folks, if you aren't a fan of the movie figures then this thread is probably not for you. Everyone else should stop on by, post a pic or two and enjoy a nice cold one. :D

Movieverse is what got me into the hobby and is my ideal style of Transformer: realistic alt modes + weird, heavily-mechanical robot modes. Something like 85-90% of my TFs are Movieverse (or, well, considered Movieverse; HftD/PCC/etc. are debatable).
Since I have a lot of photos of them, I'm just going to post some of my favorites:

I find that a lot of the movie toys are great, and a lot of them are kind of "meh", I think it has to with the combination of the character models (which I LOVE in the movies, btw) not translating THAT well into plastic, and the crappy instructions don't help either.

I love the movie toys. They're so uniquely awesome. RoTF is obviously favorite line. Then HFTD, then TF07, then DoTM.

Also, I know she's not necessarily a movie figure, but why is TF07 Fracture do expensive?

Female character based on a gobot and on a very popular yet elusive for some folks mold I'd imagine.

Also I love my Shockwaves. This has to be the one mold out of a line that I went out of my way to get every variation of, even though they're all the same character. Even the Cyberverse toy is awesome!

I have a... complex opinion of each movie, but I think there's quite a few gems in the movie lines... if you're willing to sift through the garbage.

One of my biggest pet peeves with Transformers is when they have a backpack made of alt-mode flaps. I HATE that. And movieverse toys do that alot.

But the movieline has some simply spectacular figures, too.

DOTM Shockwave, ROTF Optimus, Nest Bludgeon, Hailstorm, and DOTM Megatron are all fantastic figures in their own right.

The designs aren't for everyone, and the movies were quite dreadful, but the toylines were all phenomenal.

I don't have a picture, but Leader Starscream is such an awesome figure. It's right up there with the Masterpiece figures if you ask me.

Some oldies but goodies. As much crap that the movies get, they did yield some awesome toys.

Yeah, good thread! I like the movie figures the best myself. I love the realistic alt-modes, complex transformations, and diverse robot forms.

Thanks! HA Barricade and Soundwave are definitely my favorite of the HAs (Jazz is 3rd, and Sideswipe is 4th). They look great next to MP-M01 Starscream and my custom painted Leader Sentinel Prime. I added Cyberverse Commander Hatchet (my favorite of the DOTM CV Cmdr figs) as an attack dog on a chain leash for HA Barricade. Seemed fitting for the guy. XD
