Does anyone know a perfect matching touch-up paint for Soundwave? I need two different colors.

Silver (arms/legs) --- I found "Tamiya mica silver no 76" mentioned in the thread... Can anyone confirm?

Gold (around the cassette door) --- Any ideas for this?

 

Anyone else still waiting on the second wave from TFSource? I feel like I'm the only one.

EDIT: Wow, it says the restock got bumped down to late March. This is getting ridiculous.

So the US version will have yellow eyes and yellow trim instead of red and gold trim.

I've heard the recent price bump (He is up to $270 usd on Japanese sites. I got mine on the 1st of this month for $190) is due to them cutting back on production to scale up for the US release.

 

So if you didn't get the Japanese version and you don't want to pay 300+ you're screwed.

 

anyone disassemble an mp soundwave head yet? i'm curious to know in which pieces it separates. i have two, but one has a bad mouthpiece and eyes, and the other has the unpainted triangle on the forehead. i'm wondering if it's possible to piece the good parts together to create the perfect soundwave head.

Point me to a japanese site that has him for 270 USD or so. HLJ, amiami and animexport sold out on their original prices [or their -30percent] and haven't gotten a restock. If you're still seeing him somewhere you're either seeing somebody who marks him up for profit or a store that bought it from a local shop and is trying to make profit on top of it.

Transformers Masterpiece MP13 Soundwave - import du Japon

They haven't ran out of stock. I ordered mine from NY on March first and paid 190 (232 WITH shipping). Now it's 280 without shipping. Part of it would be Yen flux, but I've also heard they cut back on production runs to gear up for the US release. So any sites that still have stock jacked up the price.

 

But the toys have Yellow Eyes. The animation however doesn't have the triangle painted, and has Red Eyes. So... yeah. No triangle is more accurate in this case. Also I don't remember seeing all the toys with the triangle. I've seen the crest silver though. Not just the triangle.

 

had takara gone for the total toon accurate soundwave and painted his silver parts white, i would be ok with the crest not being painted silver. as it is, i prefer the silver crest.

If I didnt already get my mp13 ($214 shipped from edbomer), I'd just wait for the hasbro US release. Looking at roughly $400+ for mp13 and TT tapes, all I could say is OUCH! It's hard to beat approx $150 for hasbro soundwave & tapes. In this case, the price differential would be enough for me to wait for the domestic release.

 

Is Nippon-Yasan a good site? Looks decent.

Thinking if pre-ordering MP17 and 18 from them. They seem to be the cheapest for UK. Kapow is £70 which I think is a bit too much since that site will be $70.

 

I have ordered twice from Nippon-yasan and it's been a positive experience both times. The Items are very well packaged and in fantastic shape. They even included a nice customized note.

My only complaint is they are a tad slow. 30+ shipping should take a week at most, sometimes it takes a week and half to get here. I think it's due to them being a smaller operation. Not a huge deal but don't freak out if you don't get a tracking number right away.

I also have a pre-order for a Bandai Macross item.
They are probably the best foreign prices you can find.

 

NY opens up preorders at regular prices, then once their initial stock runs out they go out and buy stock from other shops, hence the big mark up.

It's not indicative of other retailers, Soundwave's price in Japan or anything of the like.
