Bookcases. I actually upgraded. I use to display them on this weird shelf thing, but Target had a sale not too long ago on 3 & 5 shelf cases and they had them in black, so I bought two 5 shelves and a 3 shelf and kept my other shelves to display more stuff on. As soon as I can get back to work and making a paycheck, I plan on getting quite a few of those LED taplights with the adhesive backside to place underneath each shelf to light up what's under it. THEN I'm going to get a space-friendly entertainment system to free some more room space and buy a few detolfs to put my Optimus Primes/Convoys collection in one and my Megatron collection in the other; then place those on the sides of the entertainment system, as kind of a "centerpiece."

 

I only have that space to work with to avoid unlight but I thought about getting target bookcases on the right side of my detolfs or adding two more detolfs but it would affect my walkway. I don't know?

 

Well to be honest, I'd say give the Target bookcases a go. They were kinda therapeutic? to build, and they're fairly thick and heavy, really nice looking as well. I had thought about getting the white ones for the opposite side of my room. Not to mention the 5 shelf bookcase comes with a brace piece you can screw into the top of the case and then screw into a stud in the wall for added stability if need be.
But on the other hand, since you already have a detolf set up, I'd add more of those. Idk I think either way you went, it'd look really good.
EDIT: I actually covered my windows with foil, then put black curtains up to avoid the sunlight issue, myself. The two windows in my mancave are pretty big and the sun hits them at just the perfect angle to light the entire room. Couldn't have that.

 

Billy bookcases from IKEA are cheap and look good. I have 2 in my display room, next to 6 Detolfs and they do well to display the less valuable figures (and Lego sets). You can even buy extensions for them or glass doors if you deem them necessary.

 

I wonder how they compare to target bookcases. They look alike but target has theirs for like 30 bucks I think. I'm used to glass covers when u guys use bookcases. Is dust a big issue

 

I dunno how much they are in America, I bought them on sale for $50 here so I'd say they'd probably be around $30 in America? Looking at pics of Target bookcases in the US (I don't believe they sell them here), they do look pretty similar.
I'd say just dust everything once ever two weeks, which is probably a good idea for any case, Detolfs included, because my Detolfs manage to get dusty just a little bit less frequently then everything else.

One thing to look out for though is typical IKEA QC. One of my bookcases had chips in it right out of the box, which got me PO'd.

 

That's cool, I might have to get one with the glass door to replace my TCC case.. With the subscription figures soon to ship, I don't have enough room for them in my only covered case.

Honestly, it isn't as much as you'd think. On top of the 5 shelf one, yes; but that thing stands like 6ft tall. On the first shelf, dust isn't that bad I'd say I have to dust it once every 3 months, and that's only for my Master Chief display, since there's only 5 figures up there. Now on my Autobot one, I haven't had to dust it yet (it sits just as tall as the Master Chief one), it has several figures on it and the figures themselves aren't even collecting dust yet.

On a side note, 3 of the 4 Combaticons I ordered came in, and I just got around to fooling with them. Gotta say, Onslaught surprised me with how much I enjoy him. I remember hearing somewhere that he had no leg articulation in individual bot mode, and much to my surprise, it exists and put my level of happiness owning him even higher! Now I can't wait for Vortex to come tomorrow so I can put the lot of them together.

 

I think he and Swindle are my favorites, although I like all of them; even with Blast Off's hindered shoulders, I think they're all pretty cool. Can't wait for Vortex to arrive now!
