Thanks man, yeah it is. He was originally going to have a Sideswipe head, but then I tried RID Cliff and he looked pretty good, had to trim the horns for transformation and he's got orange light pipping. Some more silver, black and orange and he'll be done, maybe even some pink for the vents.

 

That is a gorgeous blue. I still think the head should be silver or similar to break it up. But this is turning out pretty darn pretty man. Mine is coming along. I also ran out of blue, so my Leader is kinda stuck. My scout and Seeker are coming along nicely though. I might be able to finish painting them tomorrow.

 

Thanks man! I might do that. The head gets lost in all the blue, but I really like the way the blue looks on the head too. I'm gonna sleep on that and make a decision tomorrow when the rest of his parts are dry.

When all is said and done, I'll have 6 of my custom characters. 3 on each faction.

 

Wow! That's awesome! I've got 5 foc customs so far, but only 1 is a custom character so far, definitely need to catch up to you!  

 

I'm a whore for custom characters. Nothing makes me more interested in a franchise than making my own characters to exist in the world. Breach and Sunder are already sitting on my desk. Daxion is paused until I get more blue paint. Roadburn and Nosedive will likely be basically done tomorrow. Burnout will probably be started once they are finished.

As far as non-custom characters for FoC figures I've only done two. First was MotorMaster and second GLaDOS. Would have done an Ultra Magnus if Hasbro hadn't.

 

Haha, I'm right there with you, I love the idea of making our own characters, especially when there is the FOC game to go along with it where we can do the same.

Neek is close to done, my MM has been at 90% for a while, Prowl, Sunstreaker and Waspinator still need to start paint on.

 

I love that blue! It looks great! I can't wait until I can afford to get an airbrush gun thing to paint with. Just might tackle some custom ideas I've had for a little while.

 

Thanks man!   This wasn't air brushed btw. You should definitely make some customs, I try to encourage everyone to do so. It's fun making art out of Transformers.

 

Oh nice! I'm terrible at painting with a brush (unless its small detail). It's weird, I know, but I've never been able to do anything with a brush that wasn't small detail bits or weathered dry brushing. And yeah, it's always been something I've wanted to do, and lately I've started to master the art of pin removal, and just disassembly in general. But I'm definitely a fan of your work here.

 

I always advise to just jump in and do it.

The only thing done with a brush on "Neek" so far was his light pipping. You should do it, pick up a simple base, like Jazz, he's got 3 screws, yeah some pins in his back, but he's easy to work with. Give it a go man!

Thanks! I think I'll do that. Might try to sculpt a new head for it. May end up waiting for them to go on sale, and make a few generic Autobot & Decepticon scout troopers out of that mold. Although, with the Decepticon scout trooper I may end up buying a few spare Shockwaves and using his head. Gotta have some cannon fodder!

 

Neek, are you using spraypaint then?

 

Yessir, tamiya spray on acrylics are pretty f'n pretty. But I do also brush, just haven't hit this one with a brush much yet. Not all of my work comes from a can.
