Side effect of cherry picking is there will be more shelf warmers and stores order less. Now that they are higher,I bought nothing.Actually i just looked and i havent bought anything new since cyberverse powerglide. But ill tell you what....My car is a hell of alot faster. I just moved my hasbro money into my car fund. |

How does saying that he doesn't think people should be complaining mean that he doesn't have a life? It doesn't. ![]() |

*************** Higher TF prices ARE NOT THE FAULT OF HASBRO OR RETAILERS. Nor is it inflation due to what year it is. There are forces behind everything that we do and spend money on, and behind those forces are people who make decisions that affect us all. The results include the devaluing of the US Dollar and less oil to make our plastic crack, which is driving up food costs, gas costs and even out play costs. And the real kicker is that we put these people in place, so if you want to blame someone then we need to look in the mirror. Because it tells them to worry about their own problems instead of hating on others for theirs. A Christmas present from G60Force. Thanks.

We basically put up with it and pay the price to enter, because we are fans. I think there has been some great advice in here, such as if the price of official hasbro product seems too steep, save your cash for 3rd party toys that are now closer to hasbro retail. Mainly the point is is that this horse has been beaten to death (complaining about rising deluxe prices in the US), and so ultimately it isn't that non-americans hold any ill-will towards americans, it's moreso just a "live with it like every other country has to or shut up about it" mentality. |

Justified or not it always starts to creep into some people's posts. Personally I find a lot of the time it's unjustified. The US is, like any country, far from perfect but it gets a lot of seething hatred directed to their regular people who have little fault or say in global matters. |

But say, one of us posted about having to pay $30 for a Deluxe or $50 for Voyager, we'd get no sympathy and instead a million different reasons as to why Americans can complain and us mentioning how we get it worse and always have is wrong. ![]()

And since I started buying toys back in 1981 til today, prices have been going up and up and up. GI Joes in 1985 were on average 2.99 each, today that average 6.99 to 8.99. My parents bought me Optimus Prime at Montgomery Wards in 1985 for $30... adjusted for inflation, he'd be at 59.99 (basically he'd be an "Ultra" figure), so prices haven't "gone up" they've just been adjusting to economic realities.
Ratchet on Human Sexuality:Can't honestly complain, because minimum wage in 1985 was 3.35 an hour, today the baseline minimum wage in the USA is 7.25 an hour, so the ratio of dollar earned to toy expense, is actually more in your favor today than it was in 1985, since $3.35 an hour would be 6.70 an hour adjusted for inflation. Ratchet (TF 2007): "The boy's pheromone levels suggests he wants to mate with the female.” Ratchet (TF:A): "Will you get in already? " Ratchet (G1): "We'll need Teletraan 1 to diagnose all this damage. " Ratchet (TFP):"I NEEDED THAT!" |
