I do it by line or official continuity. Like I have Armada Hot Shot and Energon Megatron with my Cybertron stuff because they're part of the Unicron Trilogy (Armada, Energon, Cybertron). If I have only 1 or 2 figures from a line, I'll put it/them to a miscellaneous shelf. I have a shelf for TFP or the Aligned continuity if I get any WFC or FOC figures, a shelf for Unicron Trilogy, a shelf for Classics seasons 1-2 and another shelf for Classics seasons 3 and 4 (if any exist.) Then I have a MP shelf and I have a movie Decepticons shelf and a movie Autobots shelf. I'll seperate stuff from the same line or continuity due to space issues. I only plan on mixing once, and that's with Generations FOC Shockwave.

Generally, I arrange stuff by line, with separate shelves for Autobots and Decepticons in that line. Exceptions:

- Classics-style figure shelves, which contain a mix of Classics, TFU 2.0, Generations, RtS, 3rd party, a few Movie figures, etc.
- Heralds of Unicron shelves - Two shelves containing Unicron and figures from various lines that represent his servants.
- Children of Primus shelf - Contains Primus and figures from various lines that are either canonically established Primes or that I'm using to represent a Prime.
- About 10 shelves that are unsorted odds and ends, with no clear theme. Some BW figures, some TFU 1.0, WfC, some stuff from other lines that I don't have space for on the line shelves, etc.

Aesthetically, meaning I will put a TFP figure next to a Movie figure if it keep the colors balanced.

Haven't seen many collections arranged like that, but I have to admit that it's always visually pleasing to see a shelf full of red figures, then another with blue figures, another with black, and so on.

I've only got Classicsverse and figures that fit Classicsverse on display, and right now my collection is random but when I move in the next few months, I'll have a 'Con and 'Bot factional display.

Not like that, really. I keep specific toylines together as much as possible. I just prefer not to have two blue figures on one side of a shelf, or two yellow figures too close to each other, etc.

One of these days I'll take pictures of my display and you'll see what I mean.
