i think that you're being a little uptight about having an exposed head. i mean, flipping the alt mode over, it has to go somewhere. on things like energon ironhide or cybertron red alert though, i'd say something like that qualifies. PLS - panel line syndrome. where there's obvious panel lines all over a figure, either due to moving parts or parts not sitting flush.
Dunno if these can be called syndromes: 1. Rusting metal parts of factory sealed figures; 2. Stickers falling off sealed figures; 3. Rubber tires cracking or warping; 4. Carded figures cardbacks warping or bending over time.
Yeah, I was thinking that too. I was surprised to get some factory sealed TFTM Deluxes and the metal part parts were rusted. Maybe the seller kept them in the basement near leaking pipes or something.
Blocked Light-Piping Syndrome? The head has light-piping, but kibble behind the head renders it virtually useless.
Dumbbell Syndrome: Due to the way a figure's arms and elbows are designed, the only way for the figure to bend its elbows in a natural way is to turn the arm so that the hand is palm-up (like a person doing dumbbell curls). Notable Offenders: Preview RotF Soundwave, Cyberverse DotM Ratchet
Little Arm Syndrome: A figure's arms are so short they do not extend past the figure's chest. Notable Offenders: Most G1 toys, Alternators Hound.
Brittle Jaw Syndrome. Common among Device Label Ravage and his repaints. I've bought Ravage, Tigatron and Cheetus and it's like someone painted gold plastic and used it on each version of the mold.
Allergic to Paint Syndrome: When that nice new toy's paint starts flaking off just because you touched or transformed it via the instructions... Example: the bicep on my Masterpiece Ratchet. --- Premature Bling Balding Syndrome: When you can almost watch that nice shiny chrome plated plastic degrade into unchromed plastic without touching it. Example: Masterpiece Soundwave and any other Masterpiece with chromed plastic Related to Tinkerbell Chrome Syndrome where the chrome actually sheds small glitter sized pieces littering them about the figure.
Okay, how about not the toy itself, but the distribution? I'm talking Last Wave Syndrome: -DOTM Wheeljack and Soundwave -Thrilling 30 Arcee -Combiner Wars Sky Lynx And so many others that are super hard to find because stores like to not stock the final waves of certain lines before moving on to whatever's next.
Gimmick Tumor - when a gimmick takes up so much of a toy, or is so poorly integrated, that the toy's playability is severely compromised. Gimmick Cancer - when a specific poorly integrated gimmick extends to a group or entire line of toys.
