Masterpiece Sideswipe or Red Alert?

Red Alert. I don't see Sideswipe as a massive improvement over the Classics mould to warrent shelling out a fortune to replace him. Now due to my 'only one version of any given mould rule' which I've already stretched to also have Sunstreaker in my collection purely because of the alternate transformations, I've never been able to have an Alert in my Classics collection. This is a shame because the MTME comic has made me really like the paranoid old bugger, so this is perfect. He might stand a tad larger than the others but I can deal with that.

Originally, I was only going to get Sideswipe and if Red Alert was going to be a straight repaint then I'll wait for Hasbro. But MP14 changed that thinking after seeing how TTomy put more effort by adding the false wheel, modify the head horn including light up, and add the siren in car mode. Now I have to get both.

In a perfect world I would probably get both, but my vote went to Sideswipe. If money is willing, he's the one I most want, as I like him better than Red Alert.

It's from the episode where his horns light up, which is why I was asking: Why not just have his horns light up instead of having the globs of plastic to represent that happening?

I hope it features a light up too, after all MP1 mold and MP8 do feature a light up mechanism. Now sure how good the glob plastic will look in person, hopefully that's just a temporary presentation.

ok. just makin sure. and yeah, they do need to light up instead. though with a wee bit of modding, that might be possible
