Since Paramount pushed that G.I. Joe Retaliation movie back and Hasbro canceled waves 2 and 3 of their movie line because of this. Wouldn't it be wise to push Generations line up to make up for it?

I'm almost certain that those Battleship figures are shelf warming. So to avoid the 2nd quarter of the year being a total bomb shouldn't they give us the Generations figures now?

I think so but what do you guys think?

That would take planning, and they're out in just over two months anyway. Be patient.

No, let's wait until after Comic-Con.

Then flood the market and make Wal*Mart choke on Generations!

I voted "no" cause i've quite enjoyed a lot of Prime's offerings toy wise, and on a more personal reason, August is a much better release date for me

It's way too late for Hasbro to do something, and way too early for the retailers.

I said no because it's impossible, though some variety, and by that I mean tons of Jazzes and Optimuses would be somewhat better.

We're talking empty shelves where G.I. Joes would have been.

Somethings going to fill those empty pegs whether it's Transformers or Pokemon figures...
    So the choice is theirs.

And it won't be transformers, since the orders for those were worked out months ago. They'll likely just rearrange what they already have.

Unless I'm badly deluded, it doesn't work that way.

People seem to think the process of producing and making these toys available at retailers happens in like a month. It does not. Not even close. Nothing will change because it's already set in stone and they're working on the next assortement that we won't hear about for months at least.

Avenger toys, man. Those things have their own wall at TRU! They've gotta be selling if that much space is dedicated to them.

Assuming the absence of GI Joe toys is going to leave a massive amount of space to begin with, I'd imagine they'll just expand the amount of room for pre-existing lines. So, maybe TF Prime, Avengers, Star Wars, etc each get an extra column of pegs they wouldn't have otherwise had...but stores aren't going to bring in an entirely new subline.

Avengers did their part for May and June. Hasbro was still anticipating that G.I. Joe movie money and Avengers is not going to make up for that in July.

Sidenote: its a a shame that people who like that current show are saying no because their content with that line of toys.

It's not a matter of what certain fans want, though. Split Lip explained it perfectly.

Hard to except his explanation when I've scene items out on floors earlier than their release dates in the past.

So it's not like I'm asking for magic to happen.

Hasbro won't see a cent from whatever figures do or do not sell at retailers this month. They'll likely take a massive hit on having to take back the Retaliation stuff (if that indeed happens) or on re-negging on contractual obligations for the later waves, but when you buy a figure at a major retailer, Hasbro got their cut months before when the retailer placed their order for cases.

A few weeks is one thing, but months is another. The cases in question may not actually be at stores yet, they may still be in distribution. Maybe some retailers will break street date to fill space, but given that too often carries contractual obligations, it might not be worth it, compared to just filling shelves with stock they already have out.

I'm seeing GI Joe: Retaliation toys in retail now.
