Arg! PRID Vehicon and Knockout don't roll!

My Vehicon just came in today and I was sad to discover that, like Knockout, it can't roll in vehicle mode. His wheels and his back are the same height so it just slides. Knockout has the same problem but the culprit is his feet dragging.

I R sad panda face.

Still good toys though.

I think it has something to do with how the wheels are attached, as well. Look at the Vehicon's wheels, they're attached just like Knock Out's.

I don't really think so. It's all about the diameter of the wheel and the clearance.

No promises, but if you send him to me, I'll do everything in my power to make em roll

Hey that sounds like a good idea. Give me your address.

But this figure is a bit expensive at the moment so you had better give me a list of times when you won't be home so I can make sure it only arrives when someone is there to receive it.

I don't go outside, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Seriously though, I think its a combination of ground clearance (either by design or how it was transformed) as well as the wheels suffering from more friction than with the traditional pin style ones. Well that, and the fact that the plastic tires don't get very much traction.

My Knock Out rolls, he just doesn't roll well. He's still one of the more impressive figures of the line though, imo. I like him a ton better than internet favorite Ratchet, for instance.

My Knockout only rolls well on surfaces like carpet or rugs.

After some testing with my Knock Out, I do agree that the dragging feet are problematic.

However, the wheels also are not mounted on the usual metal axle, but instead are held on by plastic tabs. These do NOT encourage rolling as they will create friction and make it harder for the wheels to spin when supporting the toy's weight.

I just hope they're better than DOTM Roadbuster. It really bothers me how not only can his front wheels not spin, they can't even touch the ground when they're flat. They have to be at a ridiculous angle in order for his robot mode body not to touch the ground.
